Key Responsibilities

The Director of Finance will play a critical role in shaping the financial trajectory of the property by executing the following responsibilities:

• Strategic Financial Leadership:
  • Develop and implement property-wide financial strategies that enhance profitability, optimize cost structures, and identify new revenue opportunities.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to create and execute an annual operating budget that aligns with the property’s and brand’s strategic objectives.
  • Conduct comprehensive financial analysis, including forecasting sales, expenses, and cash flow, to ensure accurate and actionable insights for decision-making.
  • Monitor financial performance against projections, identifying variances and implementing corrective actions to maintain financial health.
• Financial Planning and Analysis:
  • Lead the development of long-term financial plans, including capital expenditure analysis and investment strategies to maximize return on investment (ROI).
  • Provide analytical support to department heads during budget reviews, identifying cost-saving opportunities and productivity enhancements.
  • Ensure robust financial controls are in place to safeguard assets, mitigate risks, and maintain compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Analyze market trends, industry benchmarks, and economic conditions to inform strategic financial decisions.
• Team Leadership and Development:
  • Lead, mentor, and inspire a high-performing finance team, fostering a culture of accountability, integrity, and continuous improvement.
  • Communicate financial goals, priorities, and expectations clearly to team members and cross-functional partners.
  • Conduct regular performance appraisals, providing constructive feedback and professional development opportunities to direct reports.
  • Collaborate with internal and external audit teams to ensure adherence to financial policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
• Stakeholder Engagement and Communication:
  • Serve as the primary financial advisor to the General Manager and executive committee, presenting insights and recommendations on financial performance, risks, and opportunities.
  • Engage with property owners, corporate leadership, and key stakeholders to understand their priorities and align financial strategies accordingly.
  • Translate complex financial concepts into clear, compelling narratives that drive informed decision-making across the organization.
  • Represent the property in financial discussions with external parties, including investors, lenders, and regulatory bodies.
• Innovation and Continuous Improvement:
  • Champion innovative financial solutions, such as automation, digital tools, or process improvements, to enhance efficiency and accuracy in financial operations.
  • Stay abreast of emerging trends in finance, accounting, and technology to position the property at the forefront of industry best practices.
  • Drive a culture of financial discipline and operational excellence throughout the property.

Qualifications and Experience

To excel in this role, candidates must meet the following criteria:

• Education: A 4-year bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field is required. A master’s degree in a relevant discipline is highly desirable.
• Experience:
  • Minimum of 3 years of progressive experience in finance, accounting, or a related professional field.
  • Prior experience in a leadership or management role within the hospitality, real estate, or corporate finance sectors is preferred.
