Accountant

Position Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly motivated Accountant to join the finance team at Arena Fitness Innovation in Jeddah. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and contributing to the financial health and strategic growth of our organization. Key Responsibilities

• Financial Reporting: Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow reports, in accordance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and local regulatory requirements.
• General Ledger Management: Maintain and reconcile the general ledger, ensuring accuracy and completeness of all financial transactions. Post journal entries and verify the integrity of accounting data.
• Accounts Payable & Receivable: Oversee accounts payable and receivable processes, including invoice processing, vendor payments, and customer billing. Monitor aging reports to mitigate financial risks and optimize cash flow.
• Tax Compliance: Assist in the preparation and filing of tax returns, including VAT, income tax, and other statutory obligations. Ensure adherence to tax laws and regulations to avoid penalties and optimize tax efficiency.
• Budgeting & Forecasting: Collaborate with senior management to develop, monitor, and analyze budgets and financial forecasts. Provide insights and recommendations to support strategic decision-making.
• Audit Support: Coordinate with internal and external auditors to facilitate smooth audit processes. Prepare audit schedules, respond to inquiries, and implement corrective actions as required.
• Financial Analysis: Conduct variance analysis and financial performance reviews to identify trends, discrepancies, and opportunities for cost savings or revenue enhancement.
• Process Improvement: Identify inefficiencies in financial processes and recommend enhancements to improve accuracy, efficiency, and compliance. Implement best practices to streamline accounting operations.
• Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including operations, procurement, and human resources, to ensure alignment between financial goals and business objectives.

Qualifications & Skills

To excel in this role, candidates must meet the following requirements:

• A bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Professional certifications such as CPA, ACCA, or CMA are highly desirable.
• A minimum of 3-5 years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in a corporate or fitness industry environment.
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle) and advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, VLOOKUP, and financial modeling.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS, local tax laws, and regulatory compliance frameworks.
• Exceptional attention to detail, analytical thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to liaise effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
• Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Fluency in English and Arabic is preferred.
