Key Responsibilities

As a Senior Accounting Officer, you will play a critical role in shaping the financial landscape of Almarai by leading and managing accounting functions across multiple business units. Your core responsibilities will include:

• Financial Leadership and Strategy: Develop and implement robust accounting policies, procedures, and controls to ensure accuracy, transparency, and compliance with international financial reporting standards (IFRS) and local regulatory requirements. Collaborate with senior leadership to align financial strategies with corporate objectives and drive sustainable growth.
• Financial Reporting and Analysis: Oversee the preparation of comprehensive financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow reports, ensuring timely and accurate delivery to stakeholders. Conduct in-depth financial analysis to identify trends, risks, and opportunities, providing actionable insights to support data-driven decision-making.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with department heads, business unit leaders, and external auditors to facilitate seamless communication, resolve accounting discrepancies, and ensure alignment with organizational goals. Serve as a trusted advisor to senior management on financial matters, including budgeting, forecasting, and capital allocation.
• Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure adherence to all applicable accounting standards, tax regulations, and internal policies. Lead internal and external audit processes to maintain the highest standards of financial integrity.

Qualifications and Experience

To excel in this role, you must meet the following qualifications and possess the following attributes:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A professional certification such as CPA, ACCA, or CMA is highly desirable.
• Experience: Minimum of 10 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role. Prior experience in the food and beverage industry or a multinational corporation is preferred but not mandatory.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in financial software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or similar ERP systems) and advanced Excel skills. Strong knowledge of IFRS, GAAP, and local tax regulations.
• Soft Skills: Exceptional analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to influence stakeholders at all levels and drive consensus on complex financial matters. Demonstrated leadership in managing teams and fostering a collaborative work environment.
• Language Proficiency: Fluency in English is required; proficiency in Arabic is a plus.
