Product Engineer

Role Overview

We are seeking a seasoned Product Engineer – Plastics & Tooling to spearhead the industrialization of injection-molded components, guiding projects from initial concept through to full-scale production. This pivotal technical position demands expertise in Design for Manufacturing (DFM), Moldflow simulation, tooling development, and production ramp-up, with significant exposure to international industrialization initiatives across Saudi Arabia. The successful candidate will play a critical role in supporting the initial plant ramp-up in Eastern Saudi Arabia, followed by the seamless transfer and scaling of processes to Western Saudi Arabia. Collaboration with cross-functional teams, including engineering, suppliers, and manufacturing, will be essential to ensure the successful execution of this strategic initiative.

Key Responsibilities

• Industrialization Leadership: Drive the end-to-end industrialization of plastic components, from concept development to the Start of Production (SOP), ensuring alignment with project timelines and quality standards.
• Plant Ramp-Up Support: Provide technical leadership during the initial plant ramp-up phase in Eastern Saudi Arabia, ensuring stable production launch and adherence to operational benchmarks.
• Process Transfer & Scaling: Facilitate the transfer and scaling of manufacturing processes to Western Saudi Arabia, optimizing efficiency and maintaining consistency across sites.
• Feasibility & DFM Optimization: Conduct comprehensive feasibility studies and Design for Manufacturing (DFM) assessments to enhance component design, manufacturability, and cost-effectiveness.
• Moldflow Simulation Expertise: Execute and analyze Moldflow simulations (including fill, pack, and warp phases) to predict and mitigate potential molding defects, ensuring robust process validation.
• Tooling Development & Management: Define tooling concepts, collaborate with external suppliers to develop high-precision molds, and oversee tool trials (T0–T2) to achieve production readiness.
• Troubleshooting & Process Optimization: Diagnose and resolve molding and process-related issues during ramp-up, implementing corrective actions to minimize downtime and enhance yield.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with engineering, quality assurance, manufacturing, and procurement teams to align on technical specifications, supplier performance, and production targets.
• Customer Engagement: Represent the organization in technical discussions with OEMs and Tier 1 customers, providing expert insights and solutions to meet project requirements.

Qualifications & Skills

• Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Plastics Engineering, or a related discipline from an accredited institution.
• Technical Proficiency: Proven experience in injection molding, plastics engineering, and tooling development, with hands-on expertise in DFM and Moldflow simulation tools.
• Industrialization Experience: Demonstrated track record in managing tooling suppliers, conducting tool trials, and leading production ramp-up initiatives, preferably in an international or greenfield project environment.
• Project Exposure: Prior involvement in cross-border or greenfield projects is highly advantageous, with a willingness to relocate and work across Eastern and Western regions of Saudi Arabia.
• Problem-Solving Aptitude: A structured, analytical, and solution-oriented mindset, capable of addressing complex technical challenges with precision and efficiency.
• Communication & Collaboration: Strong interpersonal skills to liaise effectively with global teams, suppliers, and customers, ensuring alignment on technical and operational objectives.
