About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced VMware Administrator to join our team in Jubail, KSA. In this critical role, you will serve as a Secondary Resource for our Hosting Operations, overseeing and managing key infrastructure components including VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF), Cisco Application Centric Infrastructure (ACI), VMware virtualization platforms, and Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI). Your responsibilities will extend to patching, vulnerability management, and ensuring seamless business-as-usual (BAU) operations while strictly adhering to service level agreements (SLA) for incident response (IR), change requests (CR), and service requests (SR) as outlined in our contractual obligations.
Key Responsibilities
- Infrastructure Management: Proactively manage and maintain VCF, ACI, VMware, and VDI environments to ensure optimal performance, reliability, and security. This includes configuration, monitoring, and troubleshooting to prevent disruptions.
- Patch and Vulnerability Management: Lead the planning, testing, and deployment of patches and updates across critical systems. Conduct regular vulnerability assessments to identify and mitigate risks, ensuring compliance with security standards and reducing exposure to potential threats.
- SLA Compliance: Monitor and manage incident response, change requests, and service requests to meet or exceed contractual SLA requirements. This involves timely resolution of issues, efficient execution of changes, and effective communication with stakeholders.
- Business-as-Usual Operations: Maintain the stability and availability of hosted services by performing routine maintenance, capacity planning, and performance tuning. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment with business objectives and operational goals.
- Contractual Adherence: Deliver services in strict accordance with contractual terms, ensuring all deliverables are completed on time, within budget, and to the specified quality standards. Document all activities and maintain accurate records for audit and compliance purposes.
Qualifications and Skills
To excel in this role, you should possess a minimum of 4 to 9 years of hands-on experience in managing VMware and related technologies within critical hosting environments. A strong technical background in VCF, ACI, VMware virtualization, and VDI is essential, along with a proven track record in patching and vulnerability management. You must demonstrate the ability to meet stringent SLA requirements while maintaining a proactive and solution-oriented approach to problem-solving.
Additionally, the ideal candidate will have:
- In-depth knowledge of VMware Cloud Foundation, including deployment, configuration, and lifecycle management.
- Experience with Cisco ACI, including policy-driven network automation and integration with VMware environments.
- Expertise in VMware vSphere, ESXi, vCenter, and related virtualization technologies.
- Familiarity with Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) solutions, such as VMware Horizon or Citrix Virtual Apps.
- Strong understanding of patch management processes, including testing, deployment, and compliance reporting.
- Proficiency in vulnerability assessment tools and remediation strategies to enhance security posture.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with global teams and stakeholders.
- Certifications such as VMware Certified Professional (VCP), VMware Certified Advanced Professional (VCAP), or equivalent are highly desirable.
This is a 12-month contract position based in Jubail, KSA. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in maintaining the integrity and performance of our hosting infrastructure while contributing to the overall success of our operations.
