Key Responsibilities

As a Service Engineer at Yokogawa, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the reliability, efficiency, and safety of our clients’ industrial systems. Your responsibilities will encompass a wide range of technical and operational tasks, including:

• CENTUM VP (DCS) System Engineering:
  • Perform system engineering, configuration, and modification for CENTUM VP (R5/R6) systems.
  • Support FCS, HIS, Vnet/IP, and system architecture design to optimize performance.
  • Execute system installation, Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), Site Acceptance Testing (SAT), commissioning, and startup support to ensure seamless integration.
  • Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and network issues to minimize downtime.
  • Conduct system upgrades, migrations, backups, and restorations to maintain system integrity.
  • Provide on-site and remote technical support during plant operations to address critical issues promptly.
  • Prepare comprehensive technical documentation, system drawings, and reports to support client operations.
• ProSafe-RS (SIS) Engineering:
  • Engineer, configure, and maintain ProSafe-RS safety instrumented systems (SIS).
  • Support Safety Integrity Level (SIL) verification, logic implementation, and change management processes.
  • Conduct FAT/SAT and site commissioning for SIS to ensure compliance with safety standards.
  • Troubleshoot safety logic, I/O issues, and communication interfaces to enhance system reliability.
  • Perform trip analysis, cause-and-effect verification, and proof testing to validate system performance.
• PRM (Plant Resource Manager) Configuration:
  • Configure and maintain PRM for field device monitoring and diagnostics.
  • Integrate PRM with CENTUM VP and asset management systems for comprehensive data analysis.
  • Support field device setup, alerts, and condition-based maintenance to optimize operational efficiency.
  • Analyze device health data and recommend corrective actions to prevent failures.
• Customer Support & Coordination:
  • Act as a key technical interface with customers during service activities to build strong client relationships.
  • Provide timely resolution of plant issues to minimize downtime and ensure uninterrupted operations.
  • Support Annual Maintenance Contracts (AMC), Time & Material (T&M) services, and emergency service calls.
  • Deliver technical presentations, training sessions, and knowledge transfer to empower clients with the skills to manage their systems effectively.
• Compliance & Safety:
  • Adhere to Yokogawa’s quality, safety, and cybersecurity guidelines to maintain high standards of operational excellence.
  • Ensure proper documentation and change control procedures are followed to meet regulatory requirements.
  • Comply with site safety rules and permit-to-work systems to create a secure working environment.

Required Qualifications

To excel in this role, you must meet the following qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Instrumentation, Electronics, Electrical, or Control Engineering.
• Experience:
  • 7–12 years of hands-on experience with Yokogawa systems, including CENTUM VP, ProSafe-RS, and PRM.
  • Proven expertise in industries such as Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, Power, or Process Industries.
• Technical Skills:
  • Strong knowledge of DCS/SIS architecture and networking, particularly Vnet/IP.
  • Experience with system upgrades, version migration, and troubleshooting at both system and field levels.
  • Proficiency in FAT/SAT, commissioning, and plant startup support.
  • Expertise in trip analysis, interlock logic, and safety documentation.
• Soft Skills:
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities to address complex technical challenges.
  • Strong communication and customer-handling skills to build trust and rapport with clients.
  • Ability to work independently and lead service activities with minimal supervision.
  • Willingness to travel and support site assignments, including on-call and emergency support.
• Preferred Certifications (Added Advantage):
  • Yokogawa Certified Engineer (CENTUM VP / ProSafe-RS).
  • Functional Safety Certification.
  • PRM or Asset Management training.

Work Environment

This role offers a dynamic work environment with a mix of site-based and office-based assignments. You will be expected to provide on-call and emergency support as required, with the possibility of local and international travel to support client needs.
