Director of Engineering – Multi-Property Operations (Delta Hotels by Marriott)
We are seeking a dynamic and visionary Director of Engineering – Multi-Property Operations to lead our engineering teams across multiple Delta Hotels by Marriott properties. In this pivotal role, you will oversee the maintenance, operations, and strategic development of engineering systems to ensure seamless guest experiences while driving operational excellence and cost efficiency. Key Responsibilities
As the Director of Engineering, you will be responsible for the following core functions:
- Multi-Property Leadership: Provide strategic direction and operational oversight for engineering teams across multiple Delta Hotels by Marriott properties, ensuring consistency in service delivery, compliance with brand standards, and alignment with Marriott International’s global policies.
- Technical and Operational Excellence: Oversee the maintenance of all mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and automation systems to guarantee optimal performance, energy efficiency, and guest comfort. Implement preventive maintenance programs to minimize downtime and extend equipment lifespan.
- Team Development and Mentorship: Lead, mentor, and develop engineering teams to cultivate a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement. Foster a collaborative environment where associates feel empowered to contribute ideas and grow professionally.
- Budget and Resource Management: Develop and manage annual engineering budgets, ensuring cost-effective operations while maintaining high service standards. Optimize resource allocation, including labor, materials, and technology, to achieve financial targets.

- Stakeholder Collaboration: Serve as a key liaison between engineering teams, property leadership, and corporate stakeholders. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address operational challenges, implement property upgrades, and align engineering strategies with business objectives.
- Guest Experience Enhancement: Champion a guest-centric approach by ensuring that all engineering systems operate flawlessly to deliver a comfortable, safe, and memorable stay. Address guest feedback proactively and implement solutions to elevate satisfaction levels.
Qualifications and Skills
To excel in this role, candidates must possess the following qualifications and attributes:
- Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Facilities Management, or a related field. A minimum of 10 years of progressive engineering leadership experience in the hospitality or facilities management industry, with at least 5 years in a multi-property or regional management role.
- Technical Proficiency: In-depth knowledge of HVAC systems, electrical and plumbing infrastructure, building automation systems (BAS), and energy management systems. Familiarity with LEED, ISO, or other sustainability certifications is a plus.
- Leadership and Communication: Exceptional leadership skills with a proven ability to inspire and motivate teams across multiple locations. Strong verbal and written communication skills to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Problem-Solving and Analytical Thinking: A strategic mindset with the ability to analyze data, identify trends, and implement data-driven solutions to improve operational efficiency and guest satisfaction.
