Engineer III

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Engineer III to join our team in the Ummahat Islands, Red Sea, Saudi Arabia. This critical role involves performing advanced maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting duties with minimal supervision, ensuring the operational efficiency and safety of our facilities. The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical background, exceptional problem-solving abilities, and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of quality and safety.

Key Responsibilities

The Engineer III will be responsible for the following core duties and responsibilities:

• Customer Service and Communication: Respond to and resolve customer maintenance requests promptly, communicating effectively to ensure minimal disruption and high satisfaction. Liaise with clients to diagnose and address issues with little to no oversight.
• Preventive Maintenance: Conduct routine maintenance on tools, equipment, and machinery, including cleaning, lubrication, and visual inspections to prevent failures and extend asset lifespan.
• Technical Operations: Perform complex repairs on physical property, electrical systems, plumbing, mechanical equipment, HVAC systems, air conditioning, refrigeration units, and pool heaters. Ensure all work adheres to company standards and local/national codes.
• Troubleshooting and Repairs: Diagnose and repair a wide range of equipment, including pumps, motors, plumbing systems (e.g., unclogging toilets and drains), electrical components (e.g., replacing switches, outlets, and programming televisions), and HVAC systems. Utilize lockout/tagout procedures to ensure safety during maintenance activities.
• Technical Documentation and Systems: Maintain accurate records of daily activities, maintenance issues, and repairs using approved communication protocols and software systems. Utilize engineering software for preventive maintenance, energy management, and other related tasks.
• Inventory and Supply Management: Monitor and maintain required inventory levels for maintenance supplies and equipment. Order parts and materials as needed to support ongoing operations.
• Team Collaboration and Mentorship: Train and mentor junior engineers and staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and technical excellence. Assist in performing the duties of a Service Engineer when required, including conducting rounds and readings.
• Safety and Compliance: Adhere to all company policies, safety protocols, and industry regulations. Report hazardous conditions, accidents, and injuries immediately. Complete required safety training and certifications. Store flammable materials in accordance with safety guidelines.
• Customer Interaction: Greet and welcome customers in alignment with company standards, anticipating and addressing their service needs. Assist individuals with disabilities and express genuine appreciation for customer feedback.
• Professional Conduct: Maintain a clean, professional appearance and uniform. Preserve the confidentiality of proprietary information and protect company assets.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To excel in this role, the Engineer III must demonstrate the following competencies and expertise:

• Technical Proficiency: Advanced ability to read blueprints and standard electrical schematics related to plumbing, HVAC, and general engineering. Strong mechanical aptitude and proficiency in at least three of the following areas: HVAC and refrigeration, electrical systems, general mechanics, plumbing, pneumatic and electronic systems and controls, carpentry and finishing, kitchen equipment, vehicle maintenance, energy conservation, and general building management. Basic skills in the remaining categories are required.
• Safety and Tool Handling: Comprehensive knowledge of safe handling and operation of manual and power tools, as well as other materials essential for repair and maintenance tasks. Commitment to adhering to safety protocols at all times.
• Problem-Solving and Critical Thinking: Ability to diagnose and resolve complex mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) issues efficiently. Strong analytical skills to identify root causes and implement effective solutions.
• Communication and Leadership: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact with clients, team members, and management. Capability to train and mentor junior staff, fostering a collaborative and skilled workforce.
• Adaptability and Initiative: Capacity to work independently with minimal supervision, prioritizing tasks effectively in a dynamic environment. Proactive approach to identifying and addressing maintenance needs before they escalate.

Work Environment

The Engineer III will operate in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment, often requiring the ability to lift heavy objects, work in confined spaces, and perform tasks in various weather conditions. The role may involve exposure to noise, dust, and other environmental factors typical of maintenance and repair operations. A strong commitment to safety and adherence to company policies are essential to ensure a secure and productive workplace.

Education and Experience

Candidates should possess a degree in Engineering, Mechanical Systems, HVAC, Electrical, or a related field, along with a minimum of five years of relevant experience in a maintenance or engineering role. Professional certifications in HVAC, electrical systems, or other specialized areas are highly desirable. Prior experience in a hospitality or facility management environment is a plus.
