Key Responsibilities

As the Director of Engineering & Facilities for multiple properties, you will be entrusted with a broad spectrum of responsibilities designed to elevate operational efficiency and guest experiences. Your core duties will include:

• Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement engineering strategies that align with Marriott International’s global standards while adapting to local market demands. Lead cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of technology, sustainability initiatives, and compliance with health and safety regulations.
• Property Oversight: Manage the maintenance, repair, and upkeep of multiple hotel properties, ensuring all facilities operate at peak performance. Oversee capital improvement projects, energy management systems, and preventive maintenance programs to minimize downtime and maximize operational efficiency.
• Team Development & Mentorship: Foster a culture of excellence by recruiting, training, and mentoring engineering staff. Cultivate a high-performance team that is agile, responsive, and committed to delivering exceptional service. Encourage innovation and continuous improvement through regular performance evaluations and professional development opportunities.
• Budget & Resource Management: Develop and manage annual budgets for engineering operations, including capital expenditures, labor costs, and vendor contracts. Optimize resource allocation to achieve cost-effective solutions without compromising quality or guest satisfaction.
• Compliance & Risk Mitigation: Ensure strict adherence to local, regional, and international regulations governing building codes, environmental standards, and safety protocols. Implement robust risk management strategies to mitigate potential hazards and ensure the well-being of guests and staff.
• Stakeholder Collaboration: Act as a liaison between property leadership, corporate engineering teams, and external vendors to streamline communication and resolve operational challenges. Build strong relationships with key stakeholders to drive alignment and achieve shared goals.

Ideal Candidate Profile

We seek a results-driven engineering leader with a proven track record in managing multiple properties within the hospitality or luxury real estate sectors. The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications and attributes:

• Education & Experience: A Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Civil Engineering, or a related field. A minimum of 10 years of progressive engineering management experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership role overseeing multiple properties.
• Technical Expertise: In-depth knowledge of HVAC systems, plumbing, electrical infrastructure, fire safety systems, and sustainable building practices. Familiarity with property management systems (PMS) and computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) is highly desirable.
• Leadership & Soft Skills: Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate teams across diverse cultural backgrounds. Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to addressing operational challenges.
• Certifications & Compliance: Professional certifications such as Certified Engineering Operations Executive (CEOE) or Certified Facility Manager (CFM) are a plus. A commitment to ongoing professional development and staying abreast of industry trends is essential.
