Position Overview: Director of Engineering – Multiproperty

As the Director of Engineering for Multiproperty Operations, you will oversee the engineering and facilities management functions across multiple Delta Hotels by Marriott properties. This leadership role is pivotal in ensuring operational excellence, maintaining high standards of property upkeep, and driving efficiency in energy management, maintenance, and compliance with health and safety regulations. You will collaborate closely with property leadership teams, regional engineering directors, and corporate stakeholders to implement best practices, optimize resources, and enhance guest satisfaction through a well-maintained and technologically advanced infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities

• Strategic Leadership: Develop and execute a comprehensive engineering strategy aligned with Delta Hotels by Marriott’s brand standards and corporate objectives, ensuring consistency across all managed properties.
• Operational Oversight: Supervise engineering teams across multiple properties, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and maintenance staff, to ensure timely and high-quality service delivery.
• Financial Management: Oversee budget planning, cost control, and capital expenditure for engineering operations, identifying opportunities for efficiency improvements and cost savings without compromising quality.
• Compliance and Safety: Ensure all properties adhere to local, regional, and international regulations, including fire safety, environmental standards, and health codes, while maintaining rigorous safety protocols for staff and guests.
• Technology Integration: Lead the adoption of innovative engineering technologies, such as Building Management Systems (BMS), predictive maintenance tools, and energy-efficient solutions, to enhance operational performance and sustainability.
• Stakeholder Collaboration: Partner with property general managers, regional directors, and corporate teams to align engineering initiatives with broader business goals, including guest experience enhancements and brand differentiation.
• Talent Development: Mentor and develop engineering staff, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, professional growth, and cross-property knowledge sharing.
• Emergency Preparedness: Develop and implement contingency plans for emergency situations, including natural disasters, equipment failures, and critical infrastructure disruptions, to minimize downtime and ensure business continuity.

Qualifications and Experience

To excel in this role, you must possess a proven track record in engineering management within the hospitality or commercial real estate sector, with at least 10 years of progressively responsible experience in facilities or property management. A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Facilities Management, or a related field is required, while a Master’s degree or professional certifications (e.g., Certified Facility Manager, LEED AP) are highly desirable. Strong leadership skills, exceptional problem-solving abilities, and a deep understanding of engineering systems and compliance standards are essential. Fluency in English is mandatory, and additional language proficiency may be advantageous in our diverse operational regions.
