About the Role

As a Service Engineer at Yokogawa, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the seamless operation of critical industrial systems, including Distributed Control Systems (DCS), Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS), and Plant Resource Management (PRM) solutions. Your expertise will be instrumental in delivering exceptional technical support, system enhancements, and customer-centric solutions that drive operational excellence and minimize downtime. This role offers a unique opportunity to work on cutting-edge technologies while contributing to sustainable industrial practices across diverse sectors such as Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, Power, and Process Industries.

Key Responsibilities

• CENTUM VP (DCS) Expertise:
  • Perform system engineering, configuration, and modifications for CENTUM VP (R5/R6) to optimize plant performance.
  • Design and support FCS, HIS, Vnet/IP, and system architecture to ensure robust and scalable solutions.
  • Execute system installation, Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), Site Acceptance Testing (SAT), commissioning, and startup support to ensure seamless integration.
  • Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and network issues to maintain system reliability.
  • Conduct system upgrades, migrations, backups, and restorations to keep systems current and secure.
  • Provide on-site and remote technical support during plant operations to address critical issues promptly.
  • Prepare comprehensive technical documentation, system drawings, and reports to facilitate knowledge sharing and compliance.
• ProSafe-RS (SIS) Leadership:
  • Engineer, configure, and maintain ProSafe-RS safety systems to ensure compliance with industry safety standards.
  • Support Safety Integrity Level (SIL) verification, logic implementation, and change management processes.
  • Conduct FAT/SAT and site commissioning for Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS) to validate performance.
  • Troubleshoot safety logic, I/O issues, and communication interfaces to mitigate risks and enhance safety.
  • Perform trip analysis, cause-and-effect verification, and proof testing to validate system integrity.
• PRM (Plant Resource Manager) Proficiency:
  • Configure and maintain PRM for field device monitoring, diagnostics, and predictive maintenance.
  • Integrate PRM with CENTUM VP and asset management systems to enable comprehensive data-driven decision-making.
  • Support field device setup, alerts, and condition-based maintenance to optimize operational efficiency.
  • Analyze device health data and recommend corrective actions to prevent failures and extend equipment lifespan.
• Customer Support & Coordination:
  • Act as the primary technical interface with customers during service activities to ensure alignment with their operational goals.
  • Provide timely resolution of plant issues to minimize downtime and maximize productivity.
  • Support Annual Maintenance Contracts (AMC), Time & Material (T&M) service calls, and emergency interventions with a focus on customer satisfaction.
  • Deliver technical presentations, training sessions, and knowledge transfer initiatives to empower customers with the skills needed to operate and maintain Yokogawa systems effectively.
• Compliance & Safety:
  • Adhere to Yokogawa’s stringent quality, safety, and cybersecurity guidelines to ensure operational integrity and data protection.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and follow change control procedures to uphold compliance with industry regulations.
  • Comply with site-specific safety rules and permit-to-work systems to foster a secure working environment.

Qualifications & Skills

To excel in this role, you will possess the following qualifications and competencies:

• Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Instrumentation, Electronics, Electrical, or Control Engineering.
• Experience:
  • 7–12 years of hands-on experience with Yokogawa systems, including CENTUM VP, ProSafe-RS, and PRM.
  • Proven expertise in Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, Power, or Process Industries.
• Technical Skills:
  • In-depth knowledge of DCS/SIS architecture and networking, particularly Vnet/IP.
  • Proficiency in system upgrades, version migration, and troubleshooting at both system and field levels.
  • Experience with FAT/SAT, commissioning, and plant startup support.
  • Strong understanding of trip analysis, interlock logic, and safety documentation.
• Soft Skills:
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities to address complex technical challenges.
  • Outstanding communication and customer-handling skills to build strong client relationships.
  • Ability to work independently, lead service activities, and manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally to support site assignments and emergency responses.
• Preferred Certifications:
  • Yokogawa Certified Engineer (CENTUM VP / ProSafe-RS).
  • Functional Safety Certification.
  • PRM or Asset Management training.
