Key Responsibilities

As a Staff Surgeon in Otolaryngology (ENT), you will play a pivotal role in providing comprehensive surgical and medical care to patients with disorders of the ear, nose, throat, head, and neck. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Clinical Excellence: Deliver high-quality, evidence-based care to patients across a broad spectrum of ENT conditions, including but not limited to sinus disorders, hearing loss, voice and swallowing disorders, head and neck cancers, and pediatric ENT issues.
  • Surgical Expertise: Perform a wide range of surgical procedures, from minimally invasive techniques to complex open surgeries, ensuring optimal patient outcomes and safety. Maintain proficiency in the latest advancements in ENT surgical technologies and methodologies.
  • Patient-Centered Care: Develop and implement individualized treatment plans that prioritize patient well-being, comfort, and recovery. Foster strong patient-doctor relationships built on trust, empathy, and clear communication.
  • Collaboration and Leadership: Work closely with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals, including anesthesiologists, nurses, audiologists, speech therapists, and radiologists, to provide holistic and coordinated care. Lead and mentor junior staff, residents, and fellows to enhance their clinical skills and professional development.
  • Research and Innovation: Contribute to ongoing clinical research, quality improvement initiatives, and academic endeavors to advance the field of Otolaryngology. Participate in peer-reviewed publications, conference presentations, and educational programs to share knowledge and best practices.
  • Operational Excellence: Ensure adherence to institutional policies, protocols, and regulatory standards. Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient records, surgical outcomes, and follow-up care to support continuous quality improvement.
  • Community Engagement: Participate in community outreach programs, health awareness campaigns, and educational seminars to promote ENT health and wellness in the region.

Qualifications and Experience

To excel in this role, you must meet the following criteria:

  • Medical Degree: A Doctor of Medicine (MD) or equivalent degree from an accredited institution.
  • Board Certification: Board certification or eligibility in Otolaryngology (ENT) from a recognized medical board. Additional subspecialty certification in areas such as head and neck surgery, pediatric otolaryngology, or otology/neurotology is highly desirable.
  • Licensure: Valid medical license to practice in Saudi Arabia or eligibility for licensure through the Saudi Commission for Health Specialties (SCFHS).
  • Clinical Experience: Minimum of 5 years of post-residency clinical experience in Otolaryngology, with a proven track record of delivering exceptional patient care and surgical outcomes.
  • Leadership and Teaching: Demonstrated ability to lead clinical teams, mentor junior staff, and contribute to academic and research activities. Prior experience in a teaching hospital or academic medical center is preferred.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English; proficiency in Arabic is a plus. Ability to effectively collaborate with diverse teams and convey complex medical information to patients and colleagues.
  • Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems, surgical planning software, and advanced ENT diagnostic and therapeutic technologies.
