Well Site Leader

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Well Site Leader to join our dynamic team in Dhahran. This critical role is responsible for overseeing and managing all operational activities at the well site, ensuring adherence to safety protocols, efficiency, and productivity. The Well Site Leader will serve as the primary point of contact between the field operations team and the company’s headquarters, facilitating seamless communication and coordination to achieve operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

• Operational Leadership: Lead and supervise a multidisciplinary team of engineers, technicians, and field personnel to execute wellsite operations in accordance with project plans and industry standards.
• Safety and Compliance: Enforce rigorous safety protocols and ensure full compliance with local, national, and international regulations, including environmental and operational safety guidelines. Conduct regular safety audits and risk assessments to mitigate potential hazards.
• Project Management: Develop, implement, and monitor wellsite execution plans, including drilling, completion, and intervention operations. Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
• Stakeholder Communication: Act as the liaison between the wellsite team and corporate stakeholders, including reporting progress, challenges, and recommendations to management. Maintain transparent and proactive communication to align all parties on project objectives and outcomes.
• Technical Expertise: Utilize in-depth knowledge of wellsite operations, including drilling techniques, well completion, and intervention methods, to troubleshoot issues and optimize performance. Stay updated with industry advancements and incorporate best practices into daily operations.
• Resource Management: Oversee the allocation and utilization of equipment, materials, and personnel to maximize efficiency and minimize downtime. Collaborate with procurement and logistics teams to ensure timely delivery of resources.
• Quality Assurance: Implement and maintain quality control measures to ensure all wellsite activities meet or exceed industry standards and client expectations. Conduct post-operation reviews to identify areas for improvement.

Qualifications and Skills

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Petroleum Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field. Advanced degrees or certifications in wellsite operations are highly desirable.
• Experience: Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in wellsite operations, with at least 5 years in a leadership or supervisory role. Prior experience in the oil and gas industry, particularly in drilling or completions, is essential.
• Technical Proficiency: Strong understanding of wellsite equipment, drilling techniques, and safety systems. Familiarity with industry software and tools for planning, monitoring, and reporting.
• Leadership and Communication: Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams, manage conflicts, and foster a collaborative work environment. Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both English and Arabic are required.
• Certifications: Valid certifications in well control (e.g., IWCF or IADC) and safety management (e.g., OSHA, NEBOSH) are mandatory.
• Problem-Solving: Demonstrated ability to analyze complex operational challenges and implement effective solutions under pressure. Strong decision-making skills with a focus on safety and efficiency.
