About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Database Administrator with expertise in MongoDB to join our dynamic team. Key Responsibilities

• Database Management and Optimization: Oversee the administration, configuration, and optimization of MongoDB databases to maximize performance, scalability, and efficiency. Implement best practices to ensure databases operate at peak levels while minimizing resource consumption and latency.
• Query Development and Performance Tuning: Develop, review, and optimize complex queries and scripts using JavaScript, Python, or Shell scripting to enhance database functionality and responsiveness. Collaborate with development teams to refine data access patterns and improve overall system performance.
• Troubleshooting and Issue Resolution: Proactively identify, diagnose, and resolve database-related issues, including performance bottlenecks, connectivity problems, and data inconsistencies. Implement corrective measures to restore optimal functionality and prevent recurrence.
• Backup, Recovery, and Disaster Recovery Planning: Design, implement, and maintain robust backup and recovery strategies to safeguard critical data against loss or corruption. Ensure the availability of reliable recovery procedures to minimize downtime and ensure business continuity in the event of an incident.
• Security and Compliance: Enforce stringent security protocols to protect sensitive data from unauthorized access or breaches. Monitor database access, audit logs, and implement encryption measures as required to maintain compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements.
• High Availability and Scalability: Configure and manage MongoDB replication, sharding, and high-availability (HA) setups to support seamless scaling and fault tolerance. Ensure databases are resilient to failures and capable of handling growing workloads without compromising performance.

Qualifications and Skills

• Technical Proficiency: Hands-on experience in MongoDB administration, including configuration, monitoring, and maintenance of database environments in production settings.
• Performance Optimization: Strong expertise in query optimization, indexing strategies, and performance tuning to enhance database efficiency and responsiveness.
• Scripting and Automation: Proficiency in scripting languages such as JavaScript, Python, or Shell to automate routine tasks, develop custom solutions, and streamline database operations.
• Replication and Sharding: In-depth knowledge of MongoDB replication, sharding, and high-availability architectures to ensure data redundancy, scalability, and resilience.
• Mission-Critical Experience: Prior experience working in mission-critical environments where database reliability, uptime, and data integrity are paramount. Familiarity with monitoring tools and proactive maintenance practices is highly desirable.
• Collaboration and Communication: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including developers, system administrators, and security professionals. Ability to articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
