Process Engineering Supervisor - Saudi Arabia

We are seeking an experienced Process Engineer to join our leading downstream energy and petrochemical operation. This role offers an excellent opportunity to provide technical leadership, drive process optimisation, and deliver continuous improvement initiatives across complex operating units.

• Provide technical leadership and guidance to Process Engineers across designated operating areas.
• Monitor plant performance, identify optimisation opportunities, and improve profitability.
• Plan, coordinate, and evaluate process trials, implementing engineering improvements as required.
• Support plant start-ups, shutdowns, inspections, and commissioning activities.
• Provide process engineering expertise for capital projects, including HAZOPs, PFD and P&ID reviews, safety assessments, and MOC processes.
• Develop technical specifications for chemicals, catalysts, and process materials, working with procurement and technical stakeholders.
• Contribute to feasibility studies, technology assessments, and future improvement projects.
• Collaborate with operations and business teams to deliver continuous improvement initiatives and operational excellence.
• Monitor production unit performance, ensuring optimisation and advanced process control strategies are effectively implemented.
• Participate in troubleshooting activities, root cause investigations, and develop practical engineering solutions to complex operational issues.
• Review process engineering studies and design modifications, ensuring technical compliance and operational suitability.
• Support production planning by providing technical input into daily operating instructions, monthly production plans, and annual budgets.
• Work closely with performance and planning teams to improve process models, yield predictions, and utility consumption.
• Manage catalyst and chemical performance throughout their lifecycle, including inventory monitoring, replacement planning, and supplier liaison.
• Stay up to date with emerging process engineering technologies, best practices, and industry developments through professional development and technical forums.

About You

You are a proactive and technically capable Process Engineer with a passion for improving plant performance and solving complex operational challenges. Comfortable working in a fast-paced production environment, you have excellent analytical skills and the ability to influence multidisciplinary teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
• Significant experience within the downstream sector, ideally gained in refinery, petrochemical, or integrated processing facilities.
• Strong knowledge of process optimisation, troubleshooting, and plant performance improvement.
• Experience supporting plant start-ups, shutdowns, and commissioning activities.
• Familiarity with process safety studies, including HAZOP, Management of Change, and process design documentation.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to work effectively in a team.
