Key Responsibilities

In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing the planning, design, and execution of transport engineering projects, ensuring compliance with international standards and local regulations. Your expertise will be instrumental in developing efficient, sustainable, and resilient transport systems. The following outlines your core responsibilities:

• Project Leadership: Lead the end-to-end delivery of transport engineering projects, from initial feasibility studies and conceptual design to detailed engineering, construction oversight, and final commissioning. Ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
• Technical Expertise: Apply advanced engineering principles to design and optimize road networks, highways, intersections, and traffic management systems. Utilize state-of-the-art software and tools to model, simulate, and validate transport solutions.
• Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all designs and implementations adhere to local, national, and international codes, standards, and best practices, including those set by the Saudi Ministry of Transport and other relevant authorities.
• Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with government agencies, contractors, consultants, and internal teams to align project objectives, resolve technical challenges, and foster productive partnerships. Act as a technical advisor to clients and stakeholders on transport-related matters.
• Innovation and Sustainability: Drive the integration of innovative technologies and sustainable practices into transport projects, such as smart traffic systems, low-carbon infrastructure, and resilient design strategies to future-proof infrastructure against climate and operational risks.
• Team Mentorship: Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and technical staff, fostering a culture of continuous learning, professional development, and excellence within the team.
• Risk Management: Identify potential risks and challenges in transport projects, develop mitigation strategies, and ensure robust contingency plans are in place to minimize disruptions and delays.

Qualifications and Experience

To excel in this role, you will bring a combination of advanced technical knowledge, leadership acumen, and a passion for innovation. The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications and experience:

• A Bachelor’s degree in Transport Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field; a Master’s degree or professional certification (e.g., PMP, PE) is highly desirable.
• Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in transport engineering, with at least 5 years in a senior or leadership role overseeing complex transport projects.
• Proven expertise in transport planning, traffic engineering, road design, and infrastructure development, with a strong portfolio of completed projects in urban, interurban, or highway contexts.
• Proficiency in industry-standard software such as AutoCAD Civil 3D, MicroStation, VISSIM, SYNCHRO, or similar tools for design, analysis, and simulation.
• In-depth knowledge of Saudi transport regulations, codes, and standards, including those issued by the Saudi Ministry of Transport, GACA, and other relevant bodies.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to diverse audiences and influence decision-making at all levels.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen eye for detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality, sustainable solutions.
• Proficiency in English is required; Arabic language skills are a plus.
