Key Responsibilities

In this critical role, you will be responsible for the strategic and operational oversight of engineering functions across multiple properties. Your core responsibilities will include:

• Leadership and Team Management: Provide visionary leadership to a team of engineering professionals, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture. Mentor and develop talent to ensure operational excellence and succession planning.
• Operational Excellence: Oversee the day-to-day operations of engineering departments, ensuring compliance with brand standards, local regulations, and Marriott International’s global policies. Implement best practices to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve service delivery.
• Property Maintenance and Upgrades: Develop and execute comprehensive maintenance plans to ensure properties are well-maintained, aesthetically pleasing, and fully functional. Lead initiatives for property upgrades, renovations, and sustainability projects to align with Marriott’s environmental and operational goals.
• Budget and Financial Management: Prepare and manage departmental budgets, ensuring cost-effective operations while maintaining high service standards. Monitor expenditures, identify cost-saving opportunities, and optimize resource allocation across properties.
• Guest Experience and Safety: Prioritize guest safety and satisfaction by ensuring all engineering systems—HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and fire safety—are fully operational and compliant with health and safety regulations. Address guest concerns promptly and proactively to enhance their stay.
• Technology and Innovation: Leverage technology to streamline engineering operations, such as implementing property management systems, IoT devices, and energy management solutions. Stay abreast of industry trends and innovations to drive continuous improvement.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with property leadership, including General Managers, Facilities Directors, and corporate teams, to align engineering strategies with overall business objectives. Serve as a liaison between engineering teams and other departments to ensure seamless operations.

Qualifications and Experience

To excel in this role, you will bring a wealth of experience in engineering management within the hospitality or facilities management sector. The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Facilities Management, or a related field. Advanced degrees or professional certifications (e.g., Certified Facility Manager, LEED AP) are a plus.
• Experience: Minimum of 10 years of progressive engineering management experience, with at least 5 years in a multi-property or large-scale facility management role. Prior experience in the hospitality industry is highly desirable.
• Technical Skills: In-depth knowledge of engineering systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire safety, and building automation systems. Proficiency in budgeting, financial management, and data analysis tools.
• Leadership and Communication: Proven ability to lead and inspire teams, with exceptional interpersonal and communication skills. Fluency in English is required; additional language proficiency is a valuable asset.
• Problem-Solving and Adaptability: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Demonstrated adaptability to changing priorities and business needs.
