SENIOR PHYSICAL THERAPY SPECIALIST - sports injury rehabilitation and post-surgical care

Position Overview

The Senior Physical Therapy Specialist is a highly skilled professional responsible for delivering advanced therapeutic interventions across multiple care settings, including inpatient, outpatient, and home care environments. This role is dedicated to restoring mobility, managing movement disorders, alleviating pain, and preventing disability stemming from injuries, chronic conditions, or post-surgical recovery. By leveraging evidence-based practices, the specialist empowers patients to regain functional independence and reintegrate into their communities with confidence and improved quality of life.

Key Responsibilities

• Patient Care Excellence: Provide comprehensive and direct physical therapy services to patients requiring advanced, skilled, and complex interventions for a diverse range of illnesses, impairments, and disabilities. Develop and implement individualized treatment plans tailored to each patient’s unique needs and recovery goals.
• Clinical Mentorship & Leadership: Act as a mentor and guide for staff members, fostering the development of clinical reasoning and critical thinking skills through targeted mentorship and professional guidance. Identify areas for staff improvement and recommend tailored development programs to enhance clinical competencies and patient care outcomes.
• Operational Contribution: Evaluate the necessity for targeted staff development initiatives in clinical practice to ensure alignment with best practices and organizational standards. Assess patient care supplies and equipment, providing informed recommendations to supervisors to optimize resource allocation and operational efficiency.
• Interdisciplinary Collaboration: Work closely with healthcare teams, including physicians, nurses, and other rehabilitation specialists, to ensure a cohesive and integrated approach to patient care. Participate in case conferences, care planning, and discharge planning to facilitate seamless transitions between care settings.
• Quality Assurance & Innovation: Stay abreast of advancements in physical therapy techniques, technologies, and research to incorporate evidence-based practices into patient care. Contribute to quality improvement initiatives and clinical audits to enhance service delivery and patient satisfaction.

Qualifications & Requirements

To qualify for this senior-level position, candidates must meet the following criteria:

• Education: A Master’s degree in Physical Therapy or a related field is required. Advanced certifications or specialized training in sports injury rehabilitation or post-surgical care are highly desirable.
• Certifications: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is mandatory. Additional certifications in specialized areas such as orthopedic or sports therapy are a plus.
• Experience: A minimum of 15 years of professional experience in physical therapy is required, with at least 2 years of post-Master’s degree experience. Prior leadership or mentorship experience in a clinical setting is preferred.
• Technical & Soft Skills: Proficiency in evaluating patient care supplies and equipment, strong analytical skills, and the ability to develop and implement staff development programs. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
• Language Proficiency: Advanced proficiency in English is essential. Basic proficiency in Arabic is beneficial but not mandatory.
