Position Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Customs Investigation Senior Specialist to join our team. In this critical role, you will be responsible for executing comprehensive customs investigation activities, particularly those involving smuggling cases that fall outside the scope of administrative resolution. Your primary responsibility will be to assess seizure reports, verify evidence, and compile complete case files for escalation, ensuring full compliance with established laws, procedures, and operational standards. Key Responsibilities

• Case Assessment and Documentation: Review seizure reports and supporting documentation to validate completeness, accuracy, and adherence to regulatory requirements. Analyze case facts and available evidence to confirm violations based on defined investigation methodologies, and document preliminary criminal liability while preparing structured case findings.
• Case File Preparation and Referral: Compile comprehensive case files and supporting documentation required for referral to the Public Prosecution. Ensure all materials are meticulously organized, accurate, and ready for formal submission.
• Interview and Legal Procedures: Conduct interviews with suspects, record their statements, and ensure they are fully informed of their legal rights in accordance with established procedures. Maintain strict adherence to legal protocols throughout all investigative activities.
• Regulatory Compliance and Reporting: Ensure timely notification to the Public Prosecution upon incident occurrence, following defined protocols. Prepare formal requests for initiating customs criminal proceedings and submit them for review and approval, maintaining a high standard of compliance with internal policies and audit requirements.
• Stakeholder Coordination: Collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders, including legal, operations, and compliance teams, to ensure all case requirements are met. Identify and address any gaps or missing information in case documentation, following up diligently to ensure completeness.
• Escalation and Decision Support: Escalate complex or unclear cases to higher authorities with thorough justification and supporting analysis. Contribute to maintaining compliance with internal policies, procedures, and audit requirements while providing expert insights to support decision-making processes.
• Record Keeping and Documentation Management: Maintain accurate, organized, and secure records of all investigation activities and documentation, ensuring traceability and accountability throughout the process.

Qualifications and Competencies

To excel in this role, you must possess a Bachelor’s degree in Law, Business Administration, or a related field. A minimum of 2–4 years of relevant experience in customs, compliance, investigation, or legal support roles is required.
