Planning Engineer

Position Overview

Key Responsibilities

• Project Scheduling and Management: Develop, refine, and maintain detailed project schedules using advanced scheduling software and industry best practices. Ensure that all project timelines are realistic, achievable, and aligned with organizational objectives.
• Resource Allocation and Assessment: Analyze project requirements to determine resource needs, including personnel, materials, and equipment. Assess resource availability and allocate them effectively to prevent bottlenecks and optimize project execution.
• Progress Monitoring and Reporting: Continuously monitor project progress against established schedules, identifying any deviations or potential delays. Prepare and present regular status reports to project managers and stakeholders, highlighting key milestones, risks, and mitigation strategies.
• Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including engineers, contractors, and vendors, to gather critical information and resolve scheduling conflicts. Foster strong working relationships to ensure seamless communication and alignment across all project phases.
• Risk Management: Conduct thorough risk assessments to identify potential schedule disruptions. Develop and recommend proactive strategies to mitigate risks, ensuring that projects remain on track and within scope.
• Compliance and Standards: Ensure that all planning activities adhere to company policies, industry regulations, and best practices. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant standards and incorporate them into project planning processes.

Qualifications and Skills

To excel in this role, you will bring a combination of education, experience, and technical proficiency. The ideal candidate will meet the following requirements:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Project Management, or a related field from an accredited institution.
• Experience: Minimum of 7 years of hands-on experience in project planning or scheduling, with a proven track record of delivering projects on time and within budget.
• Technical Proficiency: Expertise in project scheduling software such as Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, or equivalent applications. Familiarity with other project management tools and methodologies is highly desirable.
• Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills: Strong ability to analyze complex project data, identify trends, and solve problems efficiently. A proactive mindset with a focus on continuous improvement is essential.
• Communication and Collaboration: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey technical information clearly to diverse audiences. Strong interpersonal skills to build and maintain effective working relationships.
• Certifications: Professional certification in project management (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2) is a valuable asset and will be considered a plus.
