Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Steward to join our esteemed team at AMAALA, An Nu'aylah, Saudi Arabia. In this essential role, you will play a pivotal part in maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and operational efficiency within our culinary and food and beverage departments. As a Steward, you will be responsible for ensuring that all kitchen and dining areas are meticulously cleaned, sanitized, and organized to support our culinary team and deliver an exceptional guest experience. Key Responsibilities

As a Steward, your daily duties will encompass a wide range of tasks designed to maintain a pristine and efficient kitchen and dining environment. Your responsibilities will include:

• Equipment and Area Maintenance: Operate and maintain essential cleaning equipment and tools, such as dishwashing machines, hand wash stations, pot-scrubbing stations, and trash compactors. Ensure these tools are in optimal working condition to support seamless operations.
• Cleaning and Sanitization: Wash, disinfect, and sanitize kitchen and storage room areas, tables, tools, knives, and equipment. Utilize detergent, rinsing, and sanitizing chemicals in the 3-compartment sink to ensure all items are thoroughly cleaned and safe for use.
• Inventory Management: Receive deliveries, properly store perishables, and rotate stock to maintain freshness and quality. Ensure clean wares are stored in designated areas and inspect items to identify those requiring re-cleaning or re-washing.
• Dishwashing and Warewashing: Rack and spray all cleaned items with hot water to remove food residue. Sort, soak, and wash or re-wash silverware, ensuring it meets the highest hygiene standards. Break down dirty bus tubs and empty trashcans to maintain a clean and organized workspace.
• Waste Management: Dispose of glass in designated containers and break down cardboard boxes for recycling. Maintain the cleanliness of the dumpster area and ensure recyclables are properly sorted and stored.
• Safety and Compliance: Adhere to all company policies, safety protocols, and security procedures. Report maintenance needs, accidents, injuries, or unsafe work conditions to management immediately. Complete all required safety training and certifications to ensure a secure working environment.
• Team Collaboration: Develop and maintain positive working relationships with colleagues across departments. Support the team in achieving common goals and uphold the highest standards of quality and service excellence.
• Physical Demands: Perform tasks that require standing, sitting, or walking for extended periods. Move, lift, carry, push, or pull objects weighing up to 50 pounds without assistance. Reach overhead, below the knees, and perform bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping as needed to fulfill your duties.

Qualifications and Skills

To excel in this role, you should possess the following qualifications and skills:

• Education: No high school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent is required; however, a commitment to continuous learning and professional development is highly valued.
• Experience: While prior work experience in a similar role is not mandatory, a background in hospitality, food service, or custodial services is beneficial. We welcome candidates who demonstrate a strong work ethic and a willingness to learn.
• Certifications: No specific licenses or certifications are required for this position, though a food safety certification (e.g., ServSafe) is a plus.
• Personal Attributes: Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, are essential. You should be able to interact professionally with colleagues and guests alike. A proactive approach to problem-solving, attention to detail, and a passion for cleanliness and organization are critical to your success in this role.
