Solutions Architect

Position Overview

Our client, a leading enterprise in the retail technology sector, is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Solutions Architect to join their dynamic team in Jeddah, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. This is a one-year contract position with the potential for outsourcing, offering an exciting opportunity for an immediate or near-immediate joiner (within 1-2 weeks of notice period). The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in designing, implementing, and optimizing Oracle Retail and POS solutions, ensuring seamless integration and alignment with business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

The Solutions Architect will be responsible for providing expert guidance and leadership in the following areas:

• Oracle Retail & POS Architecture: Designing and architecting solutions using Oracle XStore POS, including extensions and XStore Office configurations, to enhance retail operations and customer experiences.
• SIM & SIOCS Expertise: Leading the architecture and implementation of Oracle SIM (Store Inventory Management) and SIOCS (Store Inventory and Operations Control System), including upgrade considerations and best practices.
• Retail Data Store (RDS): Architecting and utilizing Oracle Retail Data Store to ensure robust data management and analytics capabilities for informed decision-making.
• Integration & Services: Developing and managing REST/SOAP services, Webhooks, and table/database-based integration architectures to facilitate seamless connectivity between systems.
• Spring Framework & CI/CD: Leveraging the Spring Framework for service and integration development, while implementing CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins and Git to ensure efficient and reliable software delivery.
• POS Integrations: Designing and managing integrations for POS systems, including payments, loyalty programs, pricing, and handheld/printer devices to streamline retail transactions.
• Identity Management & Security: Ensuring robust integration with identity management systems to maintain secure and compliant retail environments.
• Stakeholder & Governance: Collaborating with stakeholders and system integrators (SIs) to align technical solutions with business goals, ensuring governance and compliance throughout the project lifecycle.
• Retail Domain Knowledge: Applying deep understanding of retail operations, including sales, returns, voids, refunds, tender handling, promotions, discounts, inventory movements, and adjustments, to deliver tailored solutions.

Qualifications & Experience

To excel in this role, candidates must meet the following criteria:

• Education & Experience: A minimum of 10 years of hands-on experience with Oracle Retail, POS, SIM, and SIOCS solutions, including at least 5 years as a Solutions or Technical Architect.
• Technical Proficiency: In-depth knowledge of Oracle XStore POS architecture, extensions, and XStore Office; Oracle SIM/SIOCS architecture and services; and Oracle Retail Data Store (RDS) utilization.
• Integration & Development Skills: Expertise in Spring Framework for services and integrations, REST/SOAP services, Webhooks, and table/database-based integration architectures. Proficiency in SQL (Oracle DB), Linux basics, and APEX is required.
• Retail Domain Expertise: Strong understanding of retail operations, including sales, returns, voids, refunds, tender handling, promotions, discounts, inventory movements, and adjustments.
• Soft Skills: Exceptional stakeholder management and governance experience, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and system integrators.
• Additional Advantages: Prior experience in retail domain-specific challenges and solutions is highly desirable.
