Telecom NOC Engineer

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and proactive NOC Engineer (Service Assurance) to join our dynamic team. In this critical role, you will be responsible for ensuring the stability, reliability, and high availability of our satellite connectivity infrastructure. Your expertise will span signaling pathways, routing behavior, SIM provisioning, OSS integrations, and core network interactions, enabling seamless service delivery across both commercial and beta-grade connectivity flows.

Reporting directly to the Service Assurance Manager, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining 24/7 operational continuity. Your responsibilities will include real-time monitoring, rapid incident response, and collaborative troubleshooting to mitigate service disruptions. This position demands a blend of technical acumen, analytical rigor, and exceptional communication skills to effectively coordinate with internal teams and external partner NOCs.

Key Responsibilities

• Network Monitoring & Event Handling:
  • Monitor signaling pathways, routing behavior, SIM flows, OSS integrations, and cross-core interactions to ensure uninterrupted satellite service.
  • Detect, acknowledge, and triage alarms from monitoring platforms with precision and urgency.
  • Escalate anomalies based on severity, impact, and predefined operational thresholds to minimize service degradation.
• Incident Diagnosis & Troubleshooting:
  • Validate routing tables, signaling transactions, and core-network behavior during fault or degradation events.
  • Diagnose issues across gateway, core, OSS, and cross-domain integrations that impact service connectivity.
  • Perform in-depth event analysis, correlate logs, and support root-cause investigations in collaboration with engineering teams.
• Partner NOC Coordination:
  • Act as the primary operational interface with partner NOCs for incident handling, alarm correlation, and workflow alignment.
  • Coordinate multi-party triage calls, share critical logs and findings, and ensure timely resolution of partner-linked issues.
  • Maintain consistent communication loops and adhere to defined escalation paths to uphold service-level agreements.
• Service Flow Validation & Operational Compliance:
  • Ensure signaling and routing flows remain compliant across commercial and beta service classes.
  • Conduct periodic checks on SIM provisioning paths, authentication flows, and connectivity stability.
  • Validate OSS integration points, alarms, KPIs, and data hooks to support robust service assurance visibility.
• Operational Readiness & Continuous Improvement:
  • Contribute to the development and refinement of playbooks, SOPs, and troubleshooting guides for core, gateway, and OSS interactions.
  • Support readiness for new services, partner integrations, and routing changes through pre-launch validation tests.
  • Provide actionable feedback on monitoring thresholds, dashboards, and workflow improvements to enhance operational efficiency.
• Reporting & Documentation:
  • Maintain meticulous logs, incident records, and ticket updates for seamless collaboration with internal and external teams.
  • Prepare shift handover summaries, incident reports, and root-cause analysis (RCA) inputs as required.
  • Track recurring issues and propose remediation actions to leadership to prevent future disruptions.

Qualifications

Education

• Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications, Computer Science, Electronics, or a related technical field.
• Networking certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, JNCIA, or JNCIS are advantageous.

Experience

• 2–5 years of hands-on experience in NOC operations, telecom monitoring, satellite operations, or core network support.
• Proven experience with signaling flows, routing tables, authentication paths, or mobile core elements.
• Exposure to multi-vendor NOC operations, incident workflows, and partner escalations.

Required Technical Expertise

• Strong understanding of signaling protocols (e.g., Diameter, SIP, NAS), routing fundamentals, and core network behavior.
• Knowledge of telecom connectivity flows, including SIM activation, attach procedures, mobility, and authentication.
• Experience analyzing logs, traces, routing tables, and event correlation across network elements.
• Familiarity with OSS/NMS tools, alarms, KPIs, dashboards, and monitoring platforms.
• Basic understanding of satellite networks, gateways, or hybrid RAN/core flows is preferred.
• Hands-on experience with Linux, scripting (Python/Bash), and troubleshooting tools is a plus.
