Purpose of the Role

The Digital Transformation & Data Protection Manager plays a pivotal role in shaping and executing Dräger’s digital future by leading strategic initiatives that enhance operational efficiency, innovation, and business agility. This position is responsible for driving the digital transformation roadmap, with a particular focus on the implementation, optimization, and governance of enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems, primarily Microsoft Business Central (BC). The role encompasses end-to-end management of digital transformation projects, ensuring alignment with corporate objectives while safeguarding data integrity, security, and compliance. By fostering cross-functional collaboration and leveraging cutting-edge technologies, the Digital Transformation & Data Protection Manager will enable Dräger to achieve sustainable growth, streamline processes, and maintain a competitive edge in an increasingly digital marketplace.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership & Innovation

• Collaborate with senior leadership to develop and refine the IT strategy, ensuring alignment with Dräger’s long-term business goals and digital transformation objectives.
• Champion the adoption of emerging technologies and digital trends that drive operational efficiency, customer engagement, and market differentiation.
• Advise executive stakeholders on the strategic benefits of digital sales and service enablement solutions, identifying opportunities for integration and scalability across business units.
• Lead initiatives that modernize operations through automation, cloud migration, and seamless system integration, ensuring future-readiness and resilience.
• Serve as a key stakeholder in the regional delivery model for the Digital Transformation roadmap and Microsoft ERP Business Central roadmap, ensuring timely and high-quality execution.
• Develop compelling business cases to support investment decisions in digital transformation, balancing innovation with cost efficiency and ROI.
• Contribute to the annual IT budget, optimizing technology investments to maximize value and support sustainable growth.

Operational Excellence & ERP Management

• Oversee the management, maintenance, and continuous improvement of the organization’s IT applications landscape, with a primary focus on Microsoft Business Central and Dynamics NAV systems.
• Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of MS ERP BC projects, including requirements analysis, system modifications, and partner coordination to ensure seamless transitions and minimal disruption.
• Work closely with key users, process owners, and the IT Service Manager to align ERP capabilities with strategic goals, user expectations, and industry best practices.
• Review and update Microsoft ERP service level agreements (SLAs) to reflect evolving business needs, technological advancements, and compliance requirements.
• Provide expert consultation to country teams on digital solutions tailored to address B2B challenges, particularly in the context of sales and service transformation.
• Facilitate change management initiatives to guide employees and departments through application upgrades, system migrations, or new technology rollouts, ensuring adoption and proficiency.
• Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the impact of digital transformation initiatives on growth, efficiency, and operational excellence.
• Maintain rigorous performance monitoring and system reliability assessments to drive continuous improvement and ensure uninterrupted business continuity.

Data Protection, Security & Compliance

• Ensure robust data protection measures are implemented and maintained in accordance with global data privacy regulations, including GDPR and other relevant standards.
• Oversee the development and enforcement of data security policies, access controls, and incident response protocols to mitigate risks and protect sensitive information.
• Collaborate with legal, compliance, and IT teams to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and industry best practices in data governance and cybersecurity.
• Conduct regular audits and risk assessments to identify vulnerabilities and implement corrective actions to safeguard Dräger’s digital assets and customer data.
• Promote a culture of data security awareness across the organization through training, communication, and policy enforcement.

Qualifications & Competencies

Candidates for this role should possess a minimum of a bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field, complemented by a minimum of 5-7 years of progressive experience in digital transformation, ERP management, or IT leadership. Proficiency in Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, NAV, and cloud-based solutions is essential, along with a strong understanding of data protection regulations and cybersecurity frameworks. Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills are required, alongside the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
