Join a Global Leader in Energy and Resources Transition
At Worley, we are at the forefront of bridging the energy transition, driving sustainable solutions while ensuring the reliable delivery of essential energy, chemicals, and resources. As a trusted partner to industry leaders worldwide, we empower our clients to optimize asset performance throughout their lifecycle. The Operation Readiness Engineer – Ras Al-Khair Site will play a pivotal role in this mission by ensuring that new facilities and infrastructure are fully prepared for safe, efficient, and sustainable operations from day one. This role is instrumental in translating project execution into operational excellence, fostering a seamless transition from construction to steady-state operations.
Core Responsibilities: Driving Operational Excellence
As an Operation Readiness Engineer, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams—including engineering, supply chain, construction, commissioning, and operations & maintenance (O&M)—to execute a comprehensive operational readiness program. Your responsibilities will encompass the development, implementation, and verification of readiness plans, procedures, training, and documentation, ensuring that all systems and personnel are fully prepared for handover. Key duties include:
- Operational Readiness Plan (ORP) Execution: Implement and maintain elements of the ORP under the guidance of the Operational Readiness Manager, tracking progress against critical readiness gates and supporting readiness reviews to ensure alignment with project milestones.
- Asset Information and Data Integration: Contribute to the definition and population of asset hierarchies, criticality assessments, and metadata requirements. Validate asset information within the Asset Information Model (AIM) and Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to ensure compliance with ISO 55001 standards, fostering a data-driven approach to asset management.
- Maintenance and Reliability Preparation: Partner with maintenance and reliability teams to embed maintainability principles into system designs. Assist in developing and uploading preventive and predictive maintenance tasks into the CMMS, ensuring that operational teams are equipped with the tools needed for proactive asset management.
- Spare Parts and Materials Coordination: Support the identification, cataloguing, and procurement of long-lead items, initial spares, and consumables. Collaborate with supply chain and warehouse teams to ensure proper storage, tagging, and data entry, minimizing downtime and optimizing inventory management.
- Procedure and Documentation Support: Assist in drafting, reviewing, and validating Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Emergency Operating Procedures (EOPs), and job aids. Participate in procedure walkdowns and validation exercises to ensure accuracy and alignment with plant systems.
- Training and Competency Implementation: Support the rollout of operations and maintenance training programs, ensuring that training materials are current and reflective of actual plant systems. Engage in field-based competency assessments and readiness exercises to build a skilled and capable workforce.
- System Handover and Digital Validation: Conduct technical verification of asset data, engineering deliverables, and digital models prior to handover. Confirm the accuracy, completeness, and integration of P&IDs, data books, and 3D models with operational systems, ensuring a smooth transition to operations.
- Performance and Reliability Support: Participate in performance testing, reliability runs, and early operations activities. Capture and analyze data to identify deficiencies, supporting corrective action implementation to achieve operational readiness targets and long-term reliability.
- Assurance and Risk Management Support: Contribute to readiness reviews, risk assessments, and compliance verification activities. Document and track findings, ensuring timely closeout before system handover to mitigate operational risks.
Your Impact: Shaping the Future of Operations
This role is critical to Worley’s commitment to delivering projects that are not only technically sound but also operationally robust. By ensuring that systems, processes, and personnel are fully prepared, you will help our clients achieve safe, efficient, and sustainable operations from day one. Your expertise will bridge the gap between project delivery and operational functionality, driving value and minimizing risks throughout the asset lifecycle.
Ideal Candidate Profile
