Patient Care Technician

Key Responsibilities

The Patient Care Technician will perform a diverse range of duties to maintain a safe, organized, and patient-focused clinical environment. Your responsibilities will include:

• Clinical Environment Management: Ensure the daily readiness of the clinic by maintaining cleanliness, organizing supplies, and preparing necessary equipment for clinical procedures. This includes verifying the availability of diagnostic tools such as glucometers, ECG machines, and pulse oximeters.
• Patient Flow Coordination: Streamline clinic operations by managing patient flow, scheduling appointments, and facilitating smooth transitions between departments such as radiology and laboratory services. Assist in processing admissions, referrals, and documentation to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
• Administrative Support: Complete and file essential documents, including insurance claims, referrals, and patient records, while adhering to institutional policies and regulatory standards. Handle telephone inquiries professionally, relaying messages accurately and providing courteous assistance to visitors and patients.
• Patient Care and Safety: Perform routine nursing procedures within your scope of practice, such as measuring vital signs (blood pressure, temperature, pulse oximetry), recording weight and height, conducting glucose checks, and performing pain assessments via ECG. Initiate emergency and resuscitative measures as required and report any patient concerns to the Charge Nurse or supervisory staff without delay.
• Patient Education and Advocacy: Provide patients and their families with clear, written information regarding their care plans, investigations, and follow-up procedures. Educate patients on health maintenance practices while demonstrating respect, dignity, and empathy in all interactions.
• Compliance and Professional Development: Adhere to JCIA/CBAHI patient safety standards, infection control protocols, and nursing documentation policies. Maintain compliance with HMG competency requirements, MOH licensing regulations, and dress code policies. Participate in mandatory meetings, educational activities, and person-centered care initiatives to continuously enhance your skills and contribute to organizational growth.

Requirements

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Science. Completion of a recognized Patient Care Technician (PCT) program is required.
• Experience: Prior healthcare experience is preferred, though fresh graduates with a strong interest in patient care are encouraged to apply.
• Certifications: Valid Saudi Council license and Basic Life Support (BLS) certification are mandatory.
• Skills and Competencies: Exceptional organizational abilities, strong communication skills, and a commitment to maintaining patient privacy and confidentiality. Proficiency in multitasking within a fast-paced clinical setting is essential.
