Data Management Specialist

About the Role

As a Data Management Specialist at sirar by stc, you will play a pivotal role in strengthening our enterprise data governance and management capabilities. You will be responsible for implementing robust data governance frameworks, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and enhancing data quality across the organization. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the development of a secure, efficient, and compliant data ecosystem while collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive data-driven decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

• Data Governance & Strategy Execution: Support the implementation and maintenance of enterprise data governance frameworks, policies, and operating models in alignment with the National Data Management Office (NDMO) guidelines. Ensure these frameworks are effectively integrated into daily operations.
• Regulatory Compliance & Data Protection: Ensure strict adherence to the Personal Data Protection Law (PDPL) and other data protection requirements through meticulous data handling practices. Maintain and update Records of Processing Activities (RoPA) and privacy documentation, while conducting Privacy Impact Assessments (PIA) and Transfer Impact Assessments (TIA) as required.
• Data Quality & Lifecycle Management: Execute and monitor the data quality program by tracking key performance indicators (KPIs) and supporting Critical Data Elements (CDEs). Assist in implementing data lifecycle, classification, and retention practices to ensure data integrity and security.
• Metadata & Master Data Management (MDM): Maintain accurate metadata repositories, including data catalogs, glossaries, and lineage information across business domains. Support MDM initiatives to enhance data consistency, reduce redundancy, and improve overall data quality.
• Data Sharing & Documentation: Manage and track data sharing requests, ensuring proper approvals, documentation, and compliance with internal and external policies. Review data sharing agreements and Data Processing Agreements (DPAs) in coordination with the Legal team.
• AI & Compliance Support: Contribute to AI data governance practices by ensuring that data used in artificial intelligence and machine learning initiatives is compliant, well-governed, and aligned with organizational standards.
• Tool & System Maintenance: Support the use and maintenance of data governance, catalog, and discovery tools such as Collibra, Informatica, or Microsoft Purview. Leverage data visualization tools like Power BI or Tableau to generate insights and reports.
• Audit & Compliance Assistance: Assist in audit activities and NDMO compliance assessments by preparing necessary documentation and evidence. Collaborate with business, IT, Security, and Risk teams to enforce data governance and compliance practices across the organization.

Qualifications & Skills

To excel in this role, you should possess the following qualifications and competencies:

• Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Data Management, or a related field is required. Professional certifications such as Certified Data Management Professional (CDMP), Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP), or Certified Information Privacy Manager (CIPM) are highly desirable.
• Technical & Functional Skills:
  • Strong understanding of data governance frameworks, particularly the DAMA-DMBOK (Data Management Body of Knowledge).
  • Hands-on experience in data quality management, metadata management, and data lifecycle practices.
  • In-depth knowledge of PDPL and other data privacy regulations.
  • Familiarity with data sharing processes, governance tools, and best practices.
  • Proficiency in data governance platforms such as Collibra, Informatica Axon, or Microsoft Purview.
  • Experience with data visualization tools, including Power BI or Tableau, to create dashboards and reports.
• Soft Skills:
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities to identify data-related issues and implement effective solutions.
  • Strong coordination and collaboration skills to work seamlessly with cross-functional teams, including IT, Security, Legal, and business units.
  • Detail-oriented mindset with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Experience

We seek candidates with 1-3 years of relevant experience in data management, governance, or a closely related field. Prior exposure to cybersecurity, privacy frameworks, or enterprise data initiatives will be a significant advantage.
