Laundry Attendant

Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Laundry Attendant to join our esteemed team at The Ritz-Carlton, Ummahat Islands 2-3, Red Sea, Saudi Arabia. In this full-time, non-management role, you will play a pivotal part in maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and operational excellence within our Housekeeping & Laundry department. Your responsibilities will encompass operating and monitoring advanced washing, dry cleaning, and drying machinery, ensuring that all linens and garments meet the luxury standards synonymous with The Ritz-Carlton brand.

Key Responsibilities

• Laundry Operations: Operate and monitor industrial washing, dry cleaning, and drying machines, including the precise addition of chemicals and regular cleaning of lint traps. Inspect each item post-cleaning to identify stains, damages, or areas requiring spot treatment, rewash, or disposal.
• Quality Assurance: Conduct thorough inspections of cleaned articles to ensure they meet the company’s stringent cleanliness and presentation standards. Place items in designated clean linen carts, maintaining an organized and efficient workflow.
• Equipment Maintenance: Set dryers to appropriate times and temperatures based on fabric types, and perform routine maintenance tasks such as removing lint and debris from dryer screens, dry cleaning filters, and drain traps after each load.
• Folding and Preparation: Fold cleaned articles by hand or using specialized folding machines, ensuring they are prepared to designated sizes for seamless distribution to guest rooms and other departments.
• Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all items processed, including tracking repairs, replacements, and inventory levels to support operational efficiency.
• Safety and Compliance: Adhere strictly to all company safety and security policies, including reporting accidents, injuries, or unsafe conditions to management. Complete mandatory safety training and certifications to uphold workplace standards.
• Team Collaboration: Develop and nurture positive working relationships with colleagues across departments to foster a cohesive and productive work environment. Support team initiatives to achieve common goals and contribute to the continuous improvement of operational processes.
• Physical Requirements: Perform job duties that may require standing, sitting, or walking for extended periods. Handle, lift, carry, push, or pull objects weighing up to 25 pounds without assistance. Navigate narrow, confined, or elevated spaces, as well as sloping, uneven, or slippery surfaces, including stairs and service ramps. Execute overhead and below-the-knee movements, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping.

Qualifications and Experience

To excel in this role, candidates must meet the following criteria:

• Education: No high school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent is required.
• Experience: Prior work experience in laundry operations is not mandatory, as full training will be provided. However, familiarity with industrial laundry equipment and processes is advantageous.
• Certifications: No specific licenses or certifications are required for this position.
• Core Competencies: A strong commitment to quality, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment are essential. Candidates should demonstrate reliability, professionalism, and a dedication to maintaining the highest standards of service.
