Senior Civil Engineer (Storm, Oily & sanitary water)

Position Overview

KBR is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Civil Engineer specializing in stormwater, oily water, and sanitary water systems to join our dynamic team in Saudi Arabia. This critical role will involve leading the design, development, and implementation of robust infrastructure solutions that ensure compliance with environmental regulations, operational efficiency, and sustainability standards. The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical background in civil engineering, with a focus on water management systems, and will play a pivotal role in delivering high-impact projects for our clients in the region.

Key Responsibilities

• Project Leadership: Lead the planning, design, and execution of stormwater, oily water, and sanitary water systems, ensuring alignment with project objectives, client requirements, and industry best practices.
• Technical Expertise: Provide specialized knowledge in the design of drainage systems, wastewater treatment facilities, and stormwater management solutions, including the selection of appropriate materials, technologies, and methodologies.
• Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all designs and implementations adhere to local, regional, and international regulations, including environmental, health, and safety standards, as well as client-specific specifications.
• Collaboration & Coordination: Work closely with multidisciplinary teams, including architects, environmental engineers, and construction professionals, to integrate water management systems seamlessly into broader infrastructure projects.
• Risk Assessment & Mitigation: Identify potential risks associated with water management systems and develop proactive strategies to mitigate environmental, operational, and safety concerns.
• Budget & Schedule Management: Oversee project budgets, timelines, and resource allocation to ensure timely delivery while maintaining cost efficiency and quality standards.
• Innovation & Sustainability: Drive continuous improvement by incorporating sustainable practices, such as green infrastructure, water recycling, and energy-efficient solutions, into project designs.
• Client Engagement: Act as a technical liaison with clients, providing expert advice, presenting design proposals, and ensuring client satisfaction throughout the project lifecycle.

Qualifications & Experience

To qualify for this role, candidates must meet the following requirements:

• Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field; a Master’s degree or professional certification (e.g., PE, CEng) is highly desirable.
• Experience: Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in civil engineering, with at least 5 years focused on stormwater, oily water, and sanitary water systems. Experience in the oil and gas, industrial, or infrastructure sectors is preferred.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in industry-standard software (e.g., AutoCAD, Civil 3D, EPANET, HEC-RAS) and strong knowledge of relevant codes and standards (e.g., ASCE, ACI, local regulatory guidelines).
• Soft Skills: Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving abilities, with a demonstrated ability to manage complex projects and teams.
• Certifications: Valid professional engineering license (where applicable) and certifications in environmental management or water treatment are advantageous.
