Key Responsibilities

The Senior Road Engineer will be responsible for a range of critical tasks, including:

• Project Leadership: Lead and manage end-to-end road engineering projects, from initial feasibility studies and conceptual design through to construction and handover, ensuring adherence to project timelines, budgets, and regulatory standards.
• Technical Expertise: Apply advanced engineering principles to develop innovative and cost-effective road designs, incorporating the latest industry best practices, materials, and technologies to enhance durability, safety, and sustainability.
• Team Collaboration: Work closely with multidisciplinary teams, including architects, surveyors, contractors, and government stakeholders, to ensure seamless project execution and alignment with client expectations and regulatory requirements.
• Quality Assurance: Conduct thorough reviews of engineering drawings, specifications, and construction methodologies to identify potential risks, mitigate challenges, and ensure compliance with national and international standards, such as those set by the Saudi Ministry of Transport and Logistics.
• Regulatory Compliance: Oversee the preparation and submission of necessary permits, approvals, and documentation to ensure full compliance with local, regional, and federal regulations governing road construction and infrastructure development.
• Budget and Resource Management: Monitor project expenditures, resource allocation, and procurement processes to optimize efficiency and minimize waste, while maintaining the highest standards of quality and safety.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Represent HanmiGlobal Saudi in meetings with clients, government agencies, and community representatives to present project updates, address concerns, and foster strong, collaborative relationships.

Qualifications and Experience

To excel in this role, candidates must meet the following criteria:

• Education: A bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field, with a specialization in transportation or road engineering. A master’s degree or professional certification (e.g., PMP, PE) is highly desirable.
• Experience: Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in road engineering, with at least 5 years in a senior or leadership role overseeing large-scale infrastructure projects in Saudi Arabia or similar environments.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in industry-standard software tools such as AutoCAD Civil 3D, Bentley OpenRoads, or similar platforms for design and modeling. Strong knowledge of Saudi road design standards, including geometric design, drainage systems, and pavement engineering.
• Leadership and Communication: Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams, manage conflicts, and communicate complex technical concepts clearly and effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Language Proficiency: Fluency in English is required; proficiency in Arabic is a strong advantage for effective communication with local stakeholders and regulatory bodies.
• Certifications: Valid professional engineering license (e.g., P.E. or equivalent) and membership in relevant professional organizations, such as the Saudi Council of Engineers or the Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE).
