Senior Drainage Engineer

Position Overview

HanmiGlobal Saudi is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Drainage Engineer to join our dynamic team in Saudi Arabia. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for leading and overseeing critical drainage infrastructure projects, ensuring compliance with international standards, and delivering sustainable solutions that enhance urban and rural water management systems. Key Responsibilities

• Project Leadership: Lead and manage end-to-end drainage engineering projects, including design, planning, execution, and monitoring, while adhering to project timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
• Technical Expertise: Apply advanced knowledge of drainage systems, stormwater management, and flood control mechanisms to develop innovative and efficient solutions tailored to the unique environmental and regulatory requirements of Saudi Arabia.Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all drainage projects comply with local, regional, and international regulations, codes, and best practices, including those set by the Saudi Standards, Metrology and Quality Organization (SASO) and other relevant authorities.
• Team Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including civil engineers, architects, environmental specialists, and contractors, to integrate drainage solutions seamlessly into broader infrastructure and urban development initiatives.
• Risk Assessment and Mitigation: Conduct thorough risk assessments to identify potential challenges in drainage projects and implement proactive mitigation strategies to ensure resilience against environmental and operational risks.
• Client and Stakeholder Engagement: Act as a primary technical liaison with clients, government agencies, and stakeholders, providing expert guidance, progress updates, and solutions to address their drainage-related concerns and requirements.
• Innovation and Sustainability: Drive the adoption of sustainable drainage practices, such as green infrastructure and low-impact development, to minimize environmental impact and enhance long-term water resource management.
• Documentation and Reporting: Prepare detailed technical reports, feasibility studies, and project documentation, ensuring accuracy, clarity, and compliance with industry standards.

Qualifications and Skills

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Hydraulic Engineering, or a related field. A Master’s degree or professional certification (e.g., P.E., CEng) is highly desirable.
• Experience: Minimum of 8-10 years of progressive experience in drainage engineering, with at least 3 years in a senior or leadership role. Experience in Saudi Arabia or the Middle East is preferred.
• Technical Proficiency: Profound knowledge of drainage design software (e.g., AutoCAD Civil 3D, HEC-RAS, EPANET) and hydraulic modeling tools. Familiarity with GIS and BIM technologies is a plus.
• Regulatory Knowledge: In-depth understanding of local and international drainage regulations, including SASO, ASTM, and ISO standards.
• Soft Skills: Exceptional problem-solving abilities, strong communication skills, and the capacity to lead multidisciplinary teams in high-pressure environments.
• Language Proficiency: Fluency in English is required; proficiency in Arabic is advantageous.
