Key Responsibilities

The Senior Materials Engineer will play a central role in the following areas:

• Materials Selection and Specification: Lead the evaluation, selection, and specification of materials for various projects, ensuring compliance with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and project-specific needs. This includes assessing material properties, durability, and performance under different environmental conditions.
• Research and Development: Drive innovation by conducting advanced research on new materials, technologies, and methodologies. Stay abreast of emerging trends in materials science and engineering to propose cutting-edge solutions that enhance product performance, reduce costs, and improve sustainability.
• Failure Analysis and Troubleshooting: Investigate material failures, defects, or performance issues to identify root causes and develop corrective actions. Utilize analytical techniques such as microscopy, spectroscopy, and mechanical testing to diagnose problems and recommend preventive measures.
• Collaboration and Leadership: Work closely with project managers, design engineers, and other stakeholders to integrate materials engineering considerations into project planning and execution. Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and team members to foster professional growth and ensure project success.
• Quality Assurance and Compliance: Oversee quality control processes to ensure materials meet specified standards and regulatory requirements. Develop and implement testing protocols, inspection procedures, and documentation practices to maintain compliance with international and local regulations.
• Sustainability and Environmental Impact: Champion sustainable materials practices by evaluating the environmental footprint of materials and processes. Advocate for the adoption of eco-friendly materials and technologies that align with HanmiGlobal Saudi’s commitment to sustainability and corporate social responsibility.

Qualifications and Requirements

To excel in this role, candidates must meet the following criteria:

• Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Materials Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, or a related field is required. An advanced degree (Master’s or Ph.D.) in a relevant discipline is highly desirable.
• Experience: Minimum of 7-10 years of progressive experience in materials engineering, with a focus on research, development, or industrial applications. Prior experience in a leadership or supervisory role is preferred.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in materials characterization techniques, such as X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), and mechanical testing. Familiarity with software tools for materials modeling and simulation is a plus.
• Certifications: Relevant professional certifications, such as Certified Materials Professional (CMP) or Six Sigma, are advantageous.
• Soft Skills: Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Language Proficiency: Fluency in English is essential. Proficiency in Arabic is a plus but not mandatory.
