Senior Cloud Administrator

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Cloud Administrator to oversee and optimize our cloud infrastructure hosted on Microsoft Azure. This critical role will focus on the administration, security, and performance of our SaaS, PaaS, and IaaS solutions, ensuring seamless integration and alignment with business objectives. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in Azure cloud services, Microsoft 365 administration, and cloud security best practices, while collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable and resilient cloud solutions.

Key Responsibilities

The Senior Cloud Administrator will play a pivotal role in managing and enhancing our cloud environment. Core responsibilities include:

• Azure Cloud Management: Administer and optimize Azure cloud infrastructure, including virtual machines, storage solutions, networking components, and databases, to ensure high availability and performance.
• Microsoft 365 Administration: Oversee the management of Microsoft 365 platforms, including user and group administration, Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, and other integrated services to support collaboration and productivity.
• SaaS, PaaS, and IaaS Administration: Deploy, configure, and manage a diverse range of cloud services, ensuring seamless integration and efficient resource utilization across multiple cloud models.
• Cloud Security & Compliance: Implement robust security measures, monitor cloud environments for potential threats, and ensure compliance with industry standards such as ISO 27001, NIST, NCA, and PDPL to safeguard organizational data and assets.
• Identity & Access Management: Manage Microsoft Entra ID (formerly Azure Active Directory), enforce role-based access control (RBAC), and implement multi-factor authentication (MFA) to strengthen security policies and access governance.
• Backup & Disaster Recovery: Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive cloud backup strategies, disaster recovery plans, and business continuity frameworks to minimize downtime and data loss.
• Monitoring & Performance Optimization: Utilize advanced monitoring tools such as Azure Monitor and Log Analytics to track system health, diagnose issues, and optimize cloud performance for enhanced efficiency.
• Automation & Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Leverage automation tools like PowerShell, Terraform, and ARM templates to streamline cloud operations, reduce manual intervention, and improve scalability.
• Networking & Connectivity: Manage virtual networks, VPNs, ExpressRoute, load balancers, and firewalls to ensure secure, reliable, and high-performance cloud connectivity.
• Patch Management & Updates: Ensure that all cloud infrastructure components are regularly updated with the latest security patches and service improvements to maintain system integrity and security.
• Cost Optimization: Monitor cloud usage patterns, analyze cost trends, and implement strategic initiatives to optimize cloud spending while maintaining performance and scalability.
• Collaboration & Support: Work closely with development, security, and IT teams to provide expert guidance on cloud best practices, resolve complex cloud-related issues, and support organizational goals.
• Documentation & Training: Maintain comprehensive technical documentation for all cloud operations and provide training sessions to IT staff to enhance their proficiency in Azure cloud management.

Qualifications & Skills

To excel in this role, candidates must meet the following qualifications and possess the following skills:

• Holds a master’s or bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Holds professional certifications such as Azure Administrator Associate (AZ-104), Azure Solutions Architect Expert (AZ-305), and Azure Security Engineer Associate (AZ-500).
• Minimum of 8-15 years of hands-on experience in cloud administration, with a strong emphasis on Microsoft Azure services.
• Proven proficiency in managing Azure resources, including virtual machines, containers, Kubernetes, storage solutions, and networking components.
• In-depth knowledge of cloud security principles, including identity management, encryption methodologies, and compliance frameworks.
• Strong scripting and automation skills, particularly with PowerShell, to enhance operational efficiency.
• Experience with cloud-based database services, such as Azure SQL, to support data management and integration requirements.
• Familiarity with Windows servers, Linux environments, Active Directory, and Group Policy for comprehensive system administration.
• Exceptional troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities to address complex technical challenges.
• Outstanding communication skills to articulate technical concepts clearly and collaborate effectively with stakeholders.
• Strong documentation skills to maintain accurate records of cloud operations and procedures.
