MEP Engineer (Electrical inc. FA - EM and CS)

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced MEP Engineer specializing in Electrical Engineering, including Fire Alarm (FA), Electrical Maintenance (EM), and Control Systems (CS), to join our dynamic team at SNC-Lavalin Fayez Engineering in Saudi Arabia. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in designing, developing, and overseeing electrical systems for a wide range of projects, ensuring compliance with international standards and local regulations. This position demands a proactive approach, strong technical expertise, and the ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams to deliver innovative and sustainable solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• System Design and Development: Lead the design and development of electrical systems, including power distribution, lighting, fire alarm systems, and control systems, ensuring alignment with project requirements and industry best practices.
• Technical Documentation: Prepare and review detailed electrical drawings, specifications, calculations, and reports to support project execution and compliance with regulatory standards.
• Project Coordination: Collaborate closely with architects, civil engineers, mechanical engineers, and other stakeholders to integrate electrical systems seamlessly into overall project designs.
• Compliance and Safety: Ensure all electrical designs and installations adhere to local and international codes, including NFPA, IEC, and Saudi Aramco standards, with a strong focus on safety and sustainability.
• Troubleshooting and Problem-Solving: Diagnose and resolve technical issues related to electrical systems, fire alarm systems, and control systems, providing effective solutions to minimize project delays.
• Cost Estimation and Budget Management: Assist in preparing cost estimates for electrical components and systems, ensuring projects remain within budget while maintaining high-quality standards.
• Client and Stakeholder Engagement: Represent the company in client meetings, presentations, and technical discussions, demonstrating expertise and building strong professional relationships.
• Innovation and Continuous Improvement: Stay updated with the latest advancements in electrical engineering technologies and methodologies, recommending improvements to enhance efficiency and performance.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field. A Master’s degree or professional certifications (e.g., PE, CEng) are highly desirable.
• Minimum of 7-10 years of progressive experience in electrical engineering, with a strong background in fire alarm systems, electrical maintenance, and control systems.
• Proficiency in industry-standard software tools such as AutoCAD, Revit, ETAP, Dialux, or similar platforms.
• In-depth knowledge of local and international electrical codes, including NFPA 72, IEC 60364, and Saudi Aramco standards.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
• Strong project management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a dynamic setting.
• Fluency in English is required; proficiency in Arabic is a plus.
