Position Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Mechanical Engineer to join our dynamic team at Tanajib Operation and Maintenance Company (TOMCo). This critical role will be based at our state-of-the-art Power Cogeneration and Seawater Desalination Plant, a key component of the Marjan Field Project for Saudi Aramco. The plant boasts an impressive net capacity of approximately 940 MW of electricity generation, 1,084 tons per hour of steam output, and 19,470 cubic meters per day of desalinated water production. As a Mechanical Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in leading a team of technicians to ensure the seamless execution of mechanical maintenance activities, driving operational excellence, reliability, and efficiency across the plant.
Key Responsibilities
- Leadership and Team Management: Report directly to the Lead Mechanical Engineer and oversee a team of technicians to deliver day-to-day mechanical maintenance activities, ensuring adherence to safety, environmental, and operational standards.
- Maintenance Planning and Execution: Support the planning and execution of both planned and unplanned outages for major plant equipment, including Combined Cycle Gas Turbines (CCGT), Heat Recovery Steam Generators (HRSGs), steam turbines, and auxiliary systems. Ensure maintenance activities align with plant availability, reliability, efficiency, and cost targets.
- Project Support and Improvement: Contribute to plant improvement projects by providing technical expertise, identifying opportunities for enhancement, and implementing long-term maintenance strategies to optimize performance.
- Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS): Drive the implementation and optimization of CMMS to streamline maintenance processes, improve asset reliability, and enhance data-driven decision-making.
- Spare Parts Management: Oversee spare parts inventory, procurement, and management to minimize downtime and ensure timely availability of critical components.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Foster effective coordination between Maintenance, Operations, and other plant functions to ensure seamless integration and alignment of objectives.
- Safety and Compliance: Uphold the highest standards of Quality, Health, Safety, and Environment (QHSE), ensuring compliance with applicable maintenance standards and regulatory requirements.
- Budget and Cost Control: Assist in maintenance budgeting, cost control, and resource allocation to maximize operational efficiency and financial performance.
- Team Development: Strengthen team capabilities through mentorship, training, and knowledge sharing, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation.
Qualifications and Experience
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Power Plant Engineering from a recognized institution.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of hands-on maintenance experience in power plants, cogeneration plants, desalination plants, or large continuous process facilities. Experience in Combined Cycle Gas Turbine (CCGT) power plants, including Gas Turbines, HRSGs, Steam Turbines, and auxiliary systems, is highly preferred.
- Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of maintenance management practices, CMMS implementation, outage planning, and reliability improvement. Experience managing Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) interfaces, contractors, and maintenance activities is a valuable asset.
- Safety and Compliance: In-depth understanding of QHSE standards and applicable maintenance regulations to ensure a safe and compliant work environment.
- Leadership and Soft Skills: Proven leadership, communication, planning, and problem-solving abilities. Ability to work effectively in multi-disciplinary and multi-cultural teams, fostering collaboration and synergy.
