Your Role as a Credit & Collection Officer

As a Credit & Collection Officer based in Jeddah, you will play a pivotal role in managing the Accounts Receivable portfolio for Trane Technologies’ operations across the Middle East & Africa. Your responsibilities will encompass a wide range of credit and collection activities, ensuring the minimization of credit risk while optimizing cash performance. This role is instrumental in maintaining the financial health of our organization by effectively managing credit assessments, collections, and compliance activities.

Key Responsibilities

• Credit Assessment & Management: Conduct thorough credit investigations and assessments for new and existing customers, approving credit limits in alignment with assigned authority levels. Support the regional manager in making informed decisions regarding credit risk and cash flow.
• Collections & Escalation: Execute collection protocols, including monthly statements of account, pre-calling, recording customer feedback, and following up on promises to pay. Escalate issues to collection agencies, legal counsel, or the commercial team as necessary.
• Trade Finance Oversight: Review and validate payment instruments such as Letters of Credit and Promissory Notes, monitor discrepancies, and ensure compliance with Trade Finance requirements. Prepare specialized reporting for Trade Finance activities.
• Cash Application & Reconciliation: Ensure accurate application of funds to customer accounts and minimize unapplied cash. Collaborate with the cash application team to resolve discrepancies and maintain financial accuracy.
• Dispute Resolution & Customer Engagement: Expedite the resolution of customer disputes and queries by coordinating with Sales, Order Management, and Warranty teams. Conduct customer visits to strengthen relationships and address concerns proactively.
• Reporting & Compliance: Prepare monthly and ad hoc reports for credit and financial functions. Ensure adherence to corporate and local credit policies, as well as regulatory requirements such as Trade Compliance and Sarbanes-Oxley.
• Process Improvement & Collaboration: Promote a culture of continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to enhance credit and collection processes. Actively collaborate with internal stakeholders to drive efficiency and effectiveness.

What You Bring to the Role

• A university degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
• Minimum of three years of experience in Credit & Collection or a similar role, with a strong understanding of commercial credit practices and financial analysis.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Outlook, with hands-on experience in credit and collection, preferably within a manufacturing, contracting, or construction background.
• Experience working with Letters of Credit and Promissory Notes, along with a solid accounting background to support account reconciliations.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with customers and internal teams.
• A proactive approach to problem-solving and a commitment to driving results in a fast-paced environment.
