Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Oracle Apps DBA to join our dynamic team. In this critical role, you will be responsible for delivering comprehensive technical and operational support to manage, maintain, and enhance our enterprise resource systems built on the Oracle E-Business Suite (EBS). This position is dedicated to Oracle Apps DBA responsibilities, with a primary focus on overseeing both the Application Tier and Database Tier within integrated Oracle EBS environments. Unlike traditional standalone Oracle Database Administration roles, this position requires deep expertise in the end-to-end lifecycle of Oracle EBS, ensuring seamless integration, performance, and reliability across all tiers.

Key Responsibilities

As an Oracle Apps DBA, your core responsibilities will include:

• Oracle E-Business Suite Administration: Manage and support Oracle EBS environments, ensuring optimal performance, availability, and scalability. This includes overseeing both the Application Tier and Database Tier in an integrated EBS architecture.
• System Installation, Configuration, and Maintenance: Perform end-to-end tasks such as installation, configuration, patching, cloning, and upgrades of Oracle EBS to maintain system integrity and alignment with business requirements.
• Application Server Management: Administer and optimize application servers, including Oracle WebLogic Server and Oracle Application Server, to ensure high availability and performance.
• Database Administration within EBS: Oversee Oracle databases specifically within the EBS environment, including performance tuning, backup and recovery, and ensuring data integrity. Note that this role does not encompass standalone Oracle Database Administration.
• High Availability Solutions: Implement and manage high availability environments using Oracle Real Application Clusters (RAC) to minimize downtime and enhance system resilience.
• Performance Monitoring and Tuning: Continuously monitor and tune the performance of both applications and databases to meet evolving business demands and ensure efficient resource utilization.
• Incident Management and Troubleshooting: Proactively identify, diagnose, and resolve incidents to maintain system availability and minimize disruptions to business operations.
• Operating System Administration: Manage server operating systems, including Microsoft Windows Server and Red Hat Enterprise Linux, to support the Oracle EBS infrastructure.
• Security Implementation: Apply and enforce security best practices across the Oracle EBS environment to safeguard sensitive data and ensure compliance with organizational and regulatory standards.
• Technical Documentation: Prepare, maintain, and update comprehensive technical documentation to support knowledge sharing, troubleshooting, and future system enhancements.

Qualifications & Requirements

To qualify for this role, candidates must meet the following criteria:

• Oracle Apps DBA Experience: Proven hands-on experience as an Oracle Apps DBA with expertise in Oracle E-Business Suite Applications Administration. Candidates with only standalone Oracle DBA experience will not be considered.
• Certification (Preferred): Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) certification is highly desirable but not mandatory.
• Technical Proficiency: Strong knowledge and practical experience in managing both the Application Tier and Database Tier within Oracle EBS environments.
• Application Server Expertise: In-depth experience with Oracle WebLogic Server and Oracle Application Server is essential.
• High Availability Solutions: Familiarity with Oracle RAC and its implementation in high availability architectures.
• Operating System Knowledge: Experience with Microsoft Windows Server and Red Hat Enterprise Linux is required to support the Oracle EBS infrastructure.
• Problem-Solving Skills: Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex issues, optimize system performance, and implement effective solutions in a timely manner.
• Communication and Collaboration: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and vendors.
