Interim IT Project Manager – East London / Hybrid

An esteemed Local Authority in East London is currently seeking a seasoned IT Project Manager to spearhead the delivery of critical projects aligned with the Technology Roadmap. The role will focus on the implementation and optimisation of Modern Workplace technologies, including Microsoft 365, Identity Management, Endpoint Management, and SharePoint Online. This is a high-impact contract opportunity offering a competitive daily rate of £500 via an umbrella company arrangement.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for the end-to-end management of M365 and Modern Workplace initiatives, ensuring seamless execution from inception to completion. This includes:

• Project Leadership: Overseeing the delivery of Microsoft 365 and Modern Workplace projects, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives and organisational standards.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborating with cross-functional teams, internal stakeholders, and external partners to foster alignment and drive project success.
• Project Planning & Governance: Developing comprehensive project plans, including budgets, timelines, risk assessments, and dependency management, while ensuring adherence to governance frameworks and M365 best practices.
• Reporting & Escalation Management: Providing clear and concise governance reporting to senior boards and stakeholders, and managing escalations to resolve complex delivery challenges effectively.
• Change Management & Adoption: Facilitating user adoption strategies, change management initiatives, and smooth transitions into operational service delivery.

Essential Requirements

Candidates must possess the following qualifications and experience to be considered for this role:

• Proven IT Project Management Experience: A track record of successfully delivering Microsoft 365 and Modern Workplace projects within a corporate or public sector environment.
• Stakeholder & Governance Expertise: Strong experience in managing stakeholders at all levels and implementing robust governance frameworks.
• Technical Proficiency: Hands-on experience with Microsoft 365, SharePoint Online, Identity Management, and Endpoint technologies.
• Strategic Communication: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
• Risk & Dependency Management: Demonstrated expertise in identifying, assessing, and mitigating project risks while managing dependencies to ensure timely delivery.
• Public Sector Advantage: Prior experience within Local Government or the broader Public Sector is highly desirable but not mandatory.
