Role Overview

We are seeking a Manager, Material Flow Engineering to spearhead the design, implementation, and optimization of material flow processes and storage systems across our manufacturing facilities and warehouse operations. In this pivotal role, you will ensure the efficient and timely delivery of materials to production and sub-assembly lines while leading cross-functional initiatives to enhance operational performance, scalability, and cost efficiency. Key Responsibilities

Leadership & Strategy

• Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing team of material flow engineers, providing clear direction, fostering professional growth, and driving performance excellence.
• Define and execute material flow strategies that align with production, logistics, and overarching business objectives.
• Champion a culture of continuous improvement across material flow and warehouse operations, embedding Lean and Six Sigma principles into daily practices.

Design & Optimization

• Oversee the design and implementation of material flow processes, storage systems, and line-side delivery solutions to enhance efficiency and scalability.
• Ensure seamless and efficient material movement across factory floors and sub-assembly lines, supporting volume ramp-up and new program launches.
• Optimize layouts, storage concepts, and flow strategies to accommodate evolving production demands and technological advancements.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

• Collaborate closely with logistics, manufacturing, production planning, warehouse operations, and equipment design teams to align on operational requirements and execute material flow solutions effectively.
• Serve as a critical liaison between engineering and operations, bridging gaps and ensuring cohesive execution of strategic initiatives.

Operational Excellence & Cost Efficiency

• Deploy performance tracking tools, including KPIs, audits, and dashboards, to monitor material flow efficiency and identify areas for improvement.
• Lead initiatives to eliminate bottlenecks, reduce waste, and optimize costs while maintaining high standards of operational performance.

Project Ownership

• Drive end-to-end execution of material flow projects, managing timelines, budgets, and stakeholder communications with precision.
• Lead greenfield and expansion projects, ensuring the implementation of best-in-class material flow systems from inception to completion.
• Communicate project progress, risks, and mitigation strategies to senior leadership, fostering transparency and accountability.

Qualifications & Experience

The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related field. A Master’s degree or advanced certification in a relevant discipline is a plus. Candidates should have a minimum of 8-10 years of progressive experience in material flow engineering, logistics, or a closely related field, with at least 3 years in a leadership or managerial capacity within the automotive or high-volume manufacturing industry. Proficiency in Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement methodologies is essential, as is experience with material handling systems, warehouse management systems (WMS), and enterprise resource planning (ERP) tools. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills are required, along with the ability to influence and collaborate across diverse teams. Familiarity with automotive production environments and regulatory standards is highly desirable. Exceptional communication and leadership abilities will enable you to inspire and guide your team toward achieving operational excellence.
