Core Responsibilities
The Financial Assistant will be responsible for a range of critical financial functions, including:
- Payroll Processing: Accurately process monthly payroll while ensuring full compliance with company policies and Saudi labor regulations.
- Accounts Payable Management: Process and verify supplier invoices, perform three-way purchase order matching, and facilitate timely payments to vendors.
- Financial Reconciliation: Reconcile supplier accounts, resolve discrepancies, and collaborate with internal stakeholders to maintain accurate financial records.
- Financial Record Maintenance: Maintain meticulous records for payroll, accounts payable, petty cash, and supporting documentation to ensure audit readiness.
- Banking Operations: Prepare and validate bank transfer files to ensure accurate and timely payment processing.
- Month-End Closing Support: Assist in month-end financial activities, including journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and financial reporting.
- Cost Monitoring and Reporting: Track exploration expenditures, drilling costs, and contractor invoices to ensure cost control and accuracy. Prepare monthly cost reports and perform budget variance analysis.
- Joint Venture (JV) Financial Support: Assist with JV cash calls, financial reporting, and audit requirements to ensure compliance and transparency.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure adherence to International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), internal controls, company policies, and audit requirements.
Qualifications and Skills
To excel in this role, candidates must meet the following qualifications and possess the required skills:
- Education: A Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field. Professional accounting certifications (partially or fully completed) are considered an advantage.
- Technical Proficiency: Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial controls, and reporting requirements. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with financial systems such as SAP or Pronto are essential.
- Professional Experience: Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in accounting, payroll, accounts payable, or finance operations. Experience in mining, exploration, construction, or industrial environments is highly desirable.
- Analytical and Organizational Skills: Exceptional numerical and analytical abilities with a keen eye for detail. Ability to manage multiple priorities, work independently, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Communication and Stakeholder Management: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with internal and external stakeholders. Strong organizational skills and a commitment to maintaining confidentiality are required.
- Language Proficiency: Fluency in English is mandatory. Proficiency in Arabic is an added advantage.
