Position Overview

Johnson & Johnson, a global leader in healthcare innovation, is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Manager, QARA GCC Markets to lead Quality Assurance and Regulatory Affairs (QARA) operations across the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) region. This pivotal role is based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, and will play a critical part in ensuring regulatory compliance, maintaining robust quality management systems, and driving sustainable market access for DePuy Synthes’ Orthopedics portfolio. The successful candidate will serve as a strategic partner to local, regional, and global stakeholders, fostering patient safety while supporting business growth and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

The Manager, QARA GCC Markets will oversee a broad range of responsibilities to uphold the highest standards of quality and regulatory compliance in the GCC. These include:

• Regulatory Leadership: Provide strategic direction and operational oversight for product registrations, renewals, variations, and lifecycle management across GCC markets, ensuring alignment with local and regional regulatory requirements as well as international standards.
• Compliance Management: Ensure adherence to applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies, while maintaining robust quality management systems to support inspection readiness and health authority assessments.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Act as the primary QARA point of contact for GCC markets, offering expert guidance on regulatory strategies, technical documentation, and responses to health authority inquiries. Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including Quality, Supply Chain, Commercial, Legal, and Global QARA, to align on business objectives and ensure supply continuity.
• Market Intelligence & Adaptability: Monitor evolving regulatory and quality requirements across GCC markets, assessing their potential impact on products, supply chains, and operations. Proactively adapt strategies to maintain compliance and operational efficiency.
• Inspection & Audit Support: Lead and support regulatory inspections, quality audits, and health authority assessments to ensure seamless execution and continuous improvement in QARA processes.
• Policy & Process Enhancement: Contribute to the development and implementation of regional policy initiatives that align with business strategy, ensuring sustainable growth and operational resilience in the GCC.

Qualifications & Experience

To excel in this role, candidates must possess a blend of educational background, professional experience, and leadership skills. The ideal candidate will have:

• Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Regulatory Affairs, Life Sciences, Engineering, or a related discipline. An advanced degree or professional certification in Regulatory Affairs, Quality, or a related field is preferred.
• Experience: A minimum of 6–8 years of progressive experience in Quality Assurance and/or Regulatory Affairs within the medical device, healthcare, or other highly regulated industries. Prior experience managing product registrations and lifecycle activities across multiple markets is essential.
• Technical & Regulatory Expertise: In-depth knowledge of GCC regulatory requirements, health authority processes, and quality system principles. Ability to interpret and apply regulatory and quality requirements to inform business and product decisions.
• Leadership & Collaboration: Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, matrixed environment. Strong stakeholder management, communication, and collaboration skills to engage effectively with internal and external partners.
• Preferred Qualifications: Experience supporting emerging market regulatory and quality models, as well as familiarity with global regulatory frameworks, will be considered advantageous.
