Key Responsibilities
The Finance Assistant will be responsible for a wide range of financial and accounting duties to support MBC2’s operations. Your core responsibilities will include:
- Payroll Processing: Accurately process monthly payroll in compliance with company policies and Saudi labor regulations, ensuring timely and error-free disbursements.
- Accounts Payable Management: Process and verify invoices, perform three-way purchase order (PO) matching, and manage supplier payments to maintain strong vendor relationships and financial integrity.
- Supplier Account Reconciliation: Reconcile supplier accounts, resolve discrepancies, and liaise with vendors and internal stakeholders to ensure accurate financial records.
- Financial Record Maintenance: Maintain meticulous records for payroll, accounts payable, petty cash, and supporting documentation to uphold audit readiness and compliance.
- Payment Processing: Prepare and validate bank transfer files to facilitate timely and accurate payments, minimizing financial risks and operational delays.
- Month-End Financial Activities: Assist with month-end closing procedures, including journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and financial reporting to support MBC2’s financial transparency and decision-making.
- Cost Monitoring and Reporting: Track exploration expenditures, drilling costs, and contractor invoices to ensure cost control and financial discipline. Prepare monthly cost reports and conduct budget variance analysis to support forecasting and strategic planning.
- Joint Venture (JV) Support: Assist with JV cash calls, financial reporting, and audit requirements to ensure alignment with partnership agreements and regulatory standards.
- Compliance and Controls: Ensure adherence to International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), internal controls, company policies, and audit requirements to mitigate financial and operational risks.
Qualifications and Requirements
To excel in this role, candidates must meet the following qualifications and possess the necessary skills:
- Education: A Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field. Professional accounting certifications (partially or fully completed) are highly advantageous.
- Technical Proficiency: Strong working knowledge of accounting principles, financial controls, and reporting requirements. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems such as SAP or Pronto are essential.
- Experience: A minimum of 3–5 years of relevant experience in accounting, payroll, accounts payable, or finance operations, preferably within mining, exploration, construction, or industrial sectors.
- Analytical and Organizational Skills: Exceptional numerical aptitude, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting strict deadlines in a high-pressure environment.
- Communication and Collaboration: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with stakeholders at all levels. Fluency in English is mandatory; Arabic language skills are considered a valuable asset.
