Director of Engineering – Multi-Property Management (Delta Hotels by Marriott)

Delta Hotels by Marriott, a dynamic and rapidly expanding brand within Marriott International, is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Director of Engineering – Multi-Property Management to oversee a portfolio of premium properties in the Middle East, including a prime location in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. This leadership role is pivotal in ensuring operational excellence, maintaining the highest standards of facility management, and driving sustainable engineering practices across multiple properties. Key Responsibilities

As the Director of Engineering, you will be responsible for the strategic and operational oversight of engineering functions across multiple properties. Your core duties will include:

• Multi-Property Leadership: Provide visionary leadership to a team of engineering professionals, ensuring alignment with Marriott International’s global standards and the unique needs of each property within the portfolio.
• Operational Excellence: Oversee the maintenance, repair, and enhancement of all engineering systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and automation systems, to deliver seamless guest experiences and operational efficiency.
• Budget Management: Develop, monitor, and manage annual engineering budgets, ensuring cost-effective resource allocation while maintaining high service standards and compliance with corporate policies.
• Compliance & Safety: Ensure strict adherence to local and international safety regulations, environmental standards, and Marriott’s brand-specific requirements, including fire safety, energy efficiency, and sustainability initiatives.Innovation & Sustainability: Lead the implementation of cutting-edge technologies and sustainable practices to reduce operational costs, minimize environmental impact, and enhance the guest experience.
• Team Development & Collaboration: Foster a high-performance culture by mentoring and developing engineering talent, promoting cross-property collaboration, and aligning with Marriott’s diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) principles.
• Vendor & Stakeholder Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with external vendors, contractors, and internal stakeholders to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of services and projects.
• Risk Management: Proactively identify and mitigate potential risks, including equipment failures, compliance breaches, and operational disruptions, to safeguard property assets and guest satisfaction.

Qualifications & Experience

To excel in this role, you will bring a combination of technical expertise, leadership acumen, and a passion for hospitality engineering. The ideal candidate will meet the following criteria:

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Civil Engineering, or a related field. A Master’s degree or professional certifications (e.g., LEED, PMP, or Certified Engineering Manager) are highly desirable.
• Experience: Minimum of 10 years of progressive engineering experience, with at least 5 years in a leadership role managing multi-property engineering teams. Prior experience in the hospitality or luxury real estate sector is preferred.
• Technical Proficiency: Deep knowledge of building systems, energy management, and compliance regulations. Familiarity with property management systems (PMS) and engineering software is a plus.
• Leadership & Communication: Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams, communicate effectively with senior management, and inspire a culture of accountability and excellence.
• Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving operational challenges.
