Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Attendant-Laundry to join our esteemed team at The Ritz-Carlton, Ummahat Islands. In this full-time, non-management role, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining laundry equipment to ensure the highest standards of cleanliness and presentation for our guests. Your meticulous attention to detail and commitment to excellence will contribute directly to the exceptional guest experience that defines our brand.

Key Responsibilities

The Attendant-Laundry will perform a variety of essential tasks to support the efficient operation of our laundry facilities. Your duties will include:

• Equipment Operation and Maintenance: Operate washing machines, dry cleaning equipment, and dryers, including adding necessary chemicals and cleaning lint filters. Inspect items for stains or damage, determining whether to treat, re-wash, or discard them.
• Quality Inspection and Sorting: Inspect cleaned items removed from washers, dryers, or dry cleaning machines to ensure they meet cleanliness standards. Sort and place items on designated carts for clean linen storage.
• Drying and Folding: Program dryers according to fabric types and remove lint and debris from dryer and dry cleaning machine filters after each load. Fold cleaned items to designated sizes, either manually or using folding machines.
• Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of washed and ironed items to ensure accountability and efficiency in laundry operations.
• Safety and Compliance: Adhere strictly to all company safety policies and procedures. Report any maintenance issues, safety hazards, accidents, or injuries promptly. Complete required safety training and certifications to maintain a secure work environment.
• Professional Appearance and Conduct: Present a neat, clean, and professional appearance at all times. Maintain the confidentiality of proprietary company information and protect company assets. Foster a collaborative and respectful work environment by supporting colleagues and treating everyone with dignity.
• Quality Assurance: Meet and exceed quality standards to ensure guest satisfaction and uphold the reputation of The Ritz-Carlton.
• Physical Demands: Perform tasks that require standing, sitting, or walking for extended periods. Lift, transport, push, pull, or place objects weighing up to 25 pounds (11.25 kg) without assistance. Inspect tools, equipment, or machines for defects. Bend, twist, reach overhead or below knee level, and navigate confined or elevated spaces. Move across uneven, inclined, or slippery surfaces, including stairs and service ramps. Execute other reasonable tasks as assigned by supervisors.

Qualifications and Skills

To excel in this role, you will possess the following attributes:

• Education: No formal secondary education or equivalent General Educational Development (GED) certificate is required.
• Experience: Prior experience in laundry operations is not mandatory. We welcome candidates eager to learn and grow in this field.
• Supervisory Experience: No prior supervisory experience is required.
• Certifications: No specific licenses or certifications are required for this position.
• Soft Skills: Strong attention to detail, ability to work independently or as part of a team, and a commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and professionalism.
