About the Role

To strengthen our team in Riyadh, we are actively seeking a seasoned Materials Engineer to contribute to a major construction initiative, playing a pivotal role in ensuring material quality, compliance, and performance excellence.
Key Responsibilities
The Materials Engineer will serve as a technical authority on construction materials, overseeing critical aspects of material selection, testing, and compliance throughout the project lifecycle. The role encompasses a broad range of responsibilities, including:
- Material Submittal Review and Approval: Thoroughly evaluate and approve material submittals and mix designs to ensure alignment with project specifications, contractual obligations, and industry standards.
- Quality Assurance and Compliance Monitoring: Conduct rigorous inspections and monitoring of construction materials on-site to verify adherence to quality benchmarks, local regulatory requirements, and international specifications.
- Data Analysis and Performance Verification: Utilize advanced statistical methodologies to analyze laboratory and field test results, validating material quality, durability, and performance under real-world conditions.
- Stakeholder Coordination: Collaborate closely with contractors, consultants, and accredited testing laboratories to address material-related challenges, facilitate timely approvals, and ensure seamless project progression.
- Technical Advisory and Documentation: Provide expert guidance on material behavior, selection criteria, and compliance protocols, while preparing comprehensive technical reports, material evaluations, and quality assurance documentation to support informed decision-making.
Qualifications and Requirements
To excel in this role, candidates must meet the following criteria:
- Educational Background: A Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Materials Engineering, or a closely related engineering discipline from a recognized institution.
- Professional Experience: A minimum of 10 years of hands-on experience in construction materials, with a strong preference for candidates with a proven track record in the GCC region. At least 5 years of direct experience as a Materials Engineer is required.
- Technical Proficiency: Demonstrated expertise in statistical analysis of construction materials and laboratory test results, coupled with a deep understanding of material mix design review and approval processes.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Comprehensive familiarity with local and international construction material specifications, standards, and testing procedures, including ASTM, ACI, and relevant Saudi Building Code requirements.
- Analytical and Communication Skills: Exceptional analytical abilities, strong problem-solving aptitude, and the capacity to articulate complex technical concepts clearly and concisely to diverse stakeholders.
- Language Proficiency: Fluency in English is mandatory; proficiency in Arabic is considered a valuable asset.
- Industry Exposure: Prior experience collaborating with Project Management Consultants (PMC) organizations is highly desirable.
