Position Overview

Key Responsibilities

The Accountant will be responsible for a wide range of financial and accounting duties, including but not limited to:

• Daily Accounting Operations: Execute and oversee daily accounting tasks, ensuring accurate recording of financial transactions and entries in compliance with established standards and procedures.
• Payment Documentation: Prepare, organize, and follow up on payment documents, verifying their alignment with approved financial procedures to maintain transparency and accountability.
• Revenue Management: Monitor revenue collection processes, maintain comprehensive documentation, and conduct thorough analysis to identify trends and opportunities for improvement.
• Financial Reporting: Prepare and maintain journal entries, record financial transactions in accounting systems, and generate periodic financial reports, including the Income Statement, Balance Sheet, and Trial Balance.
• Bank Reconciliation: Perform regular reconciliation of bank accounts and prepare necessary adjustments to ensure financial accuracy and compliance.
• Financial Closing: Actively contribute to monthly and annual financial closing processes, ensuring timely and accurate completion of all required tasks.
• Invoice and Payment Review: Scrutinize invoices and payment requests to verify their accuracy, completeness, and compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
• Compliance and Taxation: Support Zakat and tax compliance initiatives, ensuring adherence to local regulations and e-invoicing requirements to mitigate risks and maintain legal standing.
• Financial Analysis: Analyze financial variances, identify discrepancies, and provide data-driven recommendations to enhance financial performance and operational efficiency.
• Audit Support: Assist in internal and external audit processes by providing accurate financial records, documentation, and explanations as required.
• Budget Monitoring: Track operational and capital expenditures, comparing actual spending against approved budgets to identify variances and recommend corrective actions.
• Departmental Coordination: Collaborate with various departments to follow up on receivables, outstanding balances, and financial discrepancies, fostering cross-functional alignment and accountability.

Qualifications and Skills

To excel in this role, candidates must meet the following requirements:

• Educational Background: A Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a closely related field from an accredited institution.
• Professional Experience: A minimum of 2 to 4 years of hands-on experience in accounting, with a proven track record in financial management and reporting.
• Technical Proficiency: Strong working knowledge of ERP accounting systems and proficiency in computer applications, including spreadsheet software and financial management tools.
• Analytical Skills: Exceptional financial analysis and reporting capabilities, with the ability to interpret complex financial data and generate actionable insights.
• Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, with the ability to prepare formal reports, correspondence, and presentations tailored to diverse stakeholders.
• Team Collaboration: A collaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively in a team environment, building strong relationships with colleagues across departments.
