Key Responsibilities

The Senior Accounting Officer will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and compliance of financial records and reporting for all business units within Almarai. The ideal candidate will be responsible for:

• Financial Oversight: Leading the preparation, review, and consolidation of financial statements in accordance with international accounting standards (IFRS) and local regulatory requirements.
• Strategic Financial Planning: Collaborating closely with senior leadership to develop and implement financial strategies that support long-term business objectives and drive sustainable profitability.
• Internal Controls & Compliance: Establishing and maintaining robust internal control systems to safeguard company assets, mitigate financial risks, and ensure adherence to corporate policies and regulatory frameworks.
• Cross-Functional Leadership: Providing guidance and mentorship to accounting teams across multiple business units, fostering a culture of accountability, transparency, and continuous improvement.
• Audit & Assurance: Acting as a liaison with external auditors, tax advisors, and regulatory bodies to facilitate seamless audits and ensure timely resolution of financial inquiries.
• Performance Analysis: Monitoring financial performance through detailed variance analysis, trend identification, and proactive recommendations to enhance operational efficiency and cost management.

Qualifications & Experience

To excel in this role, candidates must possess the following qualifications and professional attributes:

• Education: A bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; a professional certification such as CPA, ACCA, or CMA is highly preferred.
• Experience: Minimum of 10 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role within a multinational corporation or large-scale enterprise.
• Technical Proficiency: Advanced knowledge of ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle), financial software, and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel. Familiarity with IFRS and local tax regulations is essential.
• Leadership & Communication: Demonstrated ability to lead and inspire diverse teams, coupled with exceptional verbal and written communication skills to articulate complex financial concepts to stakeholders at all levels.
• Analytical Mindset: Strong problem-solving abilities with a keen attention to detail and a commitment to delivering accurate, timely, and insightful financial reporting.
