We are seeking a Community Engineer (Multiple Roles and Seniority Levels) based in Saudi Arabia to join our partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. This role offers a unique opportunity to influence and grow global open source communities that power widely used Linux-based technologies worldwide.

As a Community Engineer, you will bridge the gap between developers, contributors, and engineering teams, ensuring community-driven initiatives align with broader technical roadmaps. This role combines technical expertise with community leadership, requiring hands-on engagement with open source ecosystems and strategic program execution.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Leading and supporting community initiatives by designing, coordinating, and scaling programs that enhance engagement across open source ecosystems.
• Acting as a liaison between community contributors and internal teams to ensure alignment and efficiency.
• Facilitating contributions by improving workflows, reducing friction, and enabling contributors to deliver technical projects successfully.
• Producing high-quality written and technical content to communicate community progress and initiatives.
• Actively engaging with open source communities across various platforms and representing the organization at industry events.
• Identifying and driving opportunities to improve community tooling, processes, and contributor experience at scale.

To succeed in this role, you should have:

• A strong passion for open source software and Linux ecosystems.
• Demonstrated experience engaging with open source communities and a visible public track record.
• A solid understanding of developer workflows and experience with tools used in open source development.
• Experience working with or contributing to Linux-based systems, preferably Ubuntu or similar distributions.
• Excellent communication, writing, and presentation skills.
• Strong organizational and program management skills, with the ability to lead cross-functional initiatives independently.
• Self-motivation, accountability, and comfort working autonomously in a fully remote, globally distributed environment.
• Experience in community management, developer advocacy, or software development is highly desirable.
• Flexibility to travel internationally for in-person events and collaboration sessions.
