Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented IT Network Technician to join our dynamic IT team. Key Responsibilities

The IT Network Technician will perform a wide range of technical duties to support and enhance our network infrastructure. Your core responsibilities will include:

• Network Infrastructure Installation and Maintenance: Install, configure, and maintain network devices such as switches, routers, access points, and patch panels to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
• Structured Cabling and Fiber Optic Installation: Execute structured cabling projects, including cable termination, fiber optic cable pulling, and installation of racks, patch panels, and network devices. Ensure all installations are neatly organized, labeled, and compliant with industry standards.
• Troubleshooting and Connectivity Management: Diagnose and resolve network connectivity issues, hardware malfunctions, and performance bottlenecks. Utilize advanced testing tools to verify network and fiber connections, ensuring minimal downtime and maximum efficiency.
• Preventive and Corrective Maintenance: Conduct routine preventive maintenance to proactively identify and address potential issues before they escalate. Perform corrective maintenance as needed to restore network functionality and reliability.
• Electrical and Power Support: Provide basic electrical assistance related to IT infrastructure, including power management and equipment setup, while ensuring compliance with safety standards.
• Documentation and Compliance: Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of network installations, configurations, and troubleshooting activities. Ensure all work complies with company policies, safety procedures, and industry regulations.

Qualifications and Skills

To excel in this role, you must meet the following educational and professional requirements:

• Education: A Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Electronics, Communications Engineering, or a related technical field is required.
• Experience: A minimum of 3 to 5 years of hands-on experience as an IT Network Technician or in a similar technical support role is essential. Prior experience in network infrastructure installation and maintenance is highly preferred.
• Technical Skills:
  • Proficient in structured cabling and fiber optic installation techniques.
  • Hands-on experience with network devices, including switches, routers, access points, and patch panels.
  • Strong understanding of TCP/IP, LAN/WAN, and network troubleshooting methodologies.
  • Experience with cable testing tools and network installation equipment.
  • Basic knowledge of electrical systems and power management related to IT infrastructure.
  • Ability to interpret network layouts and technical drawings accurately.
