About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Specialist, Engineering and Virtualization II to join our dynamic team. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for leading the design, implementation, and optimization of advanced data virtualization and semantic layer solutions. Your expertise will be instrumental in enhancing data accessibility, performance, and security across our enterprise ecosystem. Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Leadership: Provide technical leadership and direction to engineering teams, ensuring the delivery of robust, scalable, and secure data virtualization solutions. Guide vendors and stakeholders through complex technical challenges to achieve enterprise-wide objectives.
- Solution Architecture: Design and implement data virtualization architectures, including abstraction, federation, and semantic layers, to enable seamless data integration and consumption. Optimize query performance and implement effective caching strategies to enhance system efficiency.
- Production Support: Oversee the operational support of production data access services, ensuring adherence to performance, security, and reliability requirements. Troubleshoot issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions to maintain high availability and service levels.
- Governance and Security: Develop and enforce access governance policies, auditing mechanisms, and security controls to safeguard sensitive data. Collaborate with governance teams to align data services with enterprise standards and regulatory requirements.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Act as a liaison between business intelligence (BI) teams, application teams, and governance stakeholders to ensure data services are aligned with user needs and enterprise definitions. Facilitate clear communication and alignment to drive successful project outcomes.
- Continuous Improvement: Drive initiatives to enhance the performance, cost-efficiency, and operability of data services. Identify opportunities for innovation and process optimization to deliver sustained value to the organization.
Qualifications and Experience
To excel in this role, you must possess a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Engineering, or a related field. A minimum of 7–10 years of hands-on experience in data engineering or integration is required, with a strong focus on delivering virtualization or semantic layer solutions. Your background should include supporting production data access services with a keen emphasis on performance, security, and reliability.
